Silence-of-the-lambs cash in attempt
by Bradley F. Smith (Miami Beach, FL)
I had a deja-vu feeling watching this fairly routine serial killer flick, especially since Ashley Judd seems to be playing Jodie Foster and the twin sickos who kidnap girls are the usual horror show. The underground chamber of horrors was all too familiar as well. Still, Morgan Freeman almost always lifts up anything he's in and this rip-off is no exception. Jeremy Piven makes a brief cameo, years before "Entourage." There's the usual nail-biting moment and a red herring or two for good measure. Not the worst of its genre, by any means.

2.5 stars out of 4
by One-Line Film Reviews (Easton, MD)
The Bottom Line:
Kiss the Girls just about defines the concept of a forgettable movie; aside from the talent of the two leads there is nothing whatsover remarkable about this run-of-the-mill thriller and there is thus no reason to watch or purchase it.

I dislike this kind of movie
by R. Bagula (Lakeside, Ca United States)
What I dislike is the playing of audience's worst side.
The antihero status given to serial killers is a bad thing ( in moral
and social terms).
The publicity and books about them may sell;
true crime magazines go back in the 1800's, but
making the methods and motivations so public may encourage
others to do the same.
In this movie the female lead is done very well,
as is the staging and dialog. The movie is very well
done; it just have very few socially redeeming qualities
besides being a 'seller' at the box office.

Fantastic Movie!!!
by Bubbles (Maryland)
Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd work so well together in this movie based on James Patterson's book of the same name. Ashley is phenomenal in her portrayal of strong independent woman who remains strong throughout her tragic ordeal. Morgan is a consummate professional in his portrayal of Dr. Alex Cross. (I can't read a Patterson book about Alex Cross anymore without seeing Morgan Freeman's face.) His portrayal is exactly as I had imagined it in reading the book. Overall, this is a really good movie and was made very well. The chemistry between the actors, the surprising twists and turns and the overall story line is fantastic. If you like mystery/suspense movies, Ashley, Morgan or James Patterson books, you will love this movie.
Kiss the Girls Summary
A Washington, D.c. Detective Stakes His Claim On A North Carolina Kidnapping Investigation After His Niece Becomes The Kidnapper's Latest Victim. Local Authorities Only Offer Grudging Support, Leaving The Detective To Do Some Investigating Of His Own With The Help Of One Woman Who Escaped The Kidnapper's Lair.
Coming after
The Silence of the Lambs
and
Seven
, this thriller about a collaboration between two serial killers feels like a pale attempt to cash in on the success of those earlier, better films. That's a pity, because this film certainly has its strengths--particularly in the central performances of Morgan Freeman as a forensic detective and Ashley Judd as a would-be victim who escaped from one of the killers. Director Gary Fleder demonstrates visual flair and maintains an involving undercurrent of tension, but as this adaptation of James Patterson's novel approaches its climax, familiar elements combine to form a chronic case of thriller déjà vu. It's altogether competent filmmaking in the service of a moribund story of competing psychopaths, and by the time the serial killers reach the home stretch of their twisted contest, the movie's dangerously close to Freddy Kruger territory, with a finale that could've been borrowed from any dozen similar thrillers.
