I bought this DVD for a gift for someone who is a big John Wayne fan. I already own the movie. It is an enjoyable and fun movie to watch. I know the person I bought it for will enjoy it a lot too.

Once again, John Wayne teams up with John Ford's great american direction, showing the realistic lives of people, whether from Polynesia or america. Along with an all star cast it is a light hearted potrayal of Lives shortly after WW II in the eastern islands, while also addressing the racism of the era.

The cinematography and sound track is breath taking while it tugs at your heart. I have had this on VHS for decades, but the DVD is much more of a high quality.

I purchased this video at the request of a resident I take care of, who resides in a nursing home. We used this movie for "Movie Night" and all the residents who watched it, enjoyed it a great deal. The video was in excellent condition and thoughly enjoyed by all.

I've enjoyed this movie for years. When I saw the price I could buy it for from Amazon I just couldn't resist. This is a great movie and I purchased it at a great price.
