5/5 One of Grant`s better romantic comedies

Grant`s character is an anti-social south seas hermit/bum (but still a reasonably decent fellow) who has been unwillingly forced into
service as a coast watcher during world war two. As you might expect, he is somewhat less than thrilled by this turn of events. Which
makes for some good comedy right off the bat.
But the action really starts when he is suddenly saddled with a young prissy school marm and seven little girls in her charge. And there
is no way of getting them, or him, off a small island that seems to be getting smaller all the time.
The mad conflict that follows is classic comedy that all ages will enjoy.

Funny, clean movie. I was pleasantly surprised by Leslie Caron's acting--she's come a long way since An American in Paris.

This movie is one of Marilyn Monroe's best dramatic roles. It is adventurous and romantic at the same time - what more can you ask for in a movie. Robert Mitcham is the hero and very believable in the role. Then there is his son who does a great part with his role. And this is a movie you can watch with anyone - believable and realistic. The scenery is also beautiful!

I am a big Cary Grant fan, that is to say his comedies. This movie is one his best and the DVD quality is very good.
