As good as the original - although the militaristic replacement Santa is kind of heavy for a G-rated movie. It retains enough of the charm to make it a decent Christmas film, but it's still not in the "classic" league.

What if YOUR Dad (foibles and all) became the 'new' Santa Claus? This is the premise of 'The Santa Clause' and it did a good job of breathing some new life into Santa's story. While all his characters seem like the same one portrayed in 'Home Improvement', Tim Allen makes for a good 'feel-good' father. I enjoyed the movie, and would watch it again, so it's worth purchasing, IMHO.

We watched the first one so much, it actually got scratched and worn out so we had to get another! Timeless fun with Tim Allen and will be a Christmas classic before long. It's one of my favorites..and I'm the grandma!

I love this movie, it brings back the innocence of childhood and the magic of Christmas. Of course I had to also buy the rest of the series. Good movie, good clean fun, answers a lot of those questions kids have about Santa.
