Not all that good..
This is the film that makes me wonder how Eddie Griffin gets lead character roles anymore. His humor is good, his style is interesting, but he doesn't really portray the lead character role very well. This movie had a couple of funny point...

Funny bodies, sexy viewing
by Michael Kerjman (The Earth)
Funny parody on parody, it is a sexy comedy of kind Afro-American folks had taken over a gang of heartless white co-citizens.
Nice bodies, funny tricks, passing time easy.

Solid!
It is good to see people laugh at themselves and others, and not take themselves too seriously.

undercover brother review cover
by M. Davis-robinson (East Coast)
The cover above is the correct cover for this movie. Richaerson at the time this movie was made had more credentials than the other actors. However, the African American Actress should not be on the back of the package as in the case of my purchase. The original package should not be changed.
Thank you

Very Funny!
by B. M Phillip (Minneapolis, MN United States)
This could be considered an Austin Powers rip off, but it is beyond that. The main character, played by Eddie Griffin, dresses like a person out of his time period, but he is not buffoonish. The supporting cast work very well together. Overall, the movie is very funny and not just a "black" movie. My fear is that the movie will get dated because of the large amount of current references. Even "You Go Girl" is already getting dated.

undercover brother
by Lorenza Harrison
I have watched this movie three times and I am still laughing. A friend watched it also and he loved it.
Undercover Brother (Widescreen Collector's Edition) Summary
Movie Dvd
Blaxploitation movies deserve a good spoofing, and
Undercover Brother
tweaks the subgenre with a few good laughs. But what might have been an Afro-centric
Austin Powers
(adapted by John Ridley from his Internet film series) is instead a lackluster comedy with one basic joke: "Whitey"--personified as a faceless corporate despot known as "the Man"--has the power, but black folks have
soul
. With enough funk to make
Shaft
look passé, Eddie Griffin plays "U.B." with an oversized 'fro and a firm grasp of comedic possibilities. He's recruited by the B.R.O.T.H.E.R.H.O.O.D. (an all-black justice league) to foil the Man's plan to derail a Colin Powell-like presidential candidate (Billy Dee Williams), and U.B.'s undercover exploits keep the slim plot moving. Denise Richards and Neil Patrick Harris are gamely ridiculed as token white allies, and it's all in good fun as director Malcolm D. Lee (Spike's cousin) finds room for mild jolts of relevant social commentary.
