"I have always loved you"
by Hombre Mundial (USA)
As soon as I heard Lifetime would release the movie "Comfort and Joy" DVD I jumped at the chance to own it! I already loved the movie and I wanted to add to my growing Christmas-themed movie collection.
The story stars Nancy McKeon as Jane Berry, a woman who gets the chance to live another life-- the life as a wife and mother, the self-described "New and improved Jane" after crashing her Jaguar into a post and generally being confused about her new identity.
It's a heartwarming romantic comedy set amongst the backdrop of the Christmas season. Jane's husband, Sam played by Steven Eckholdt does a fantastic job in his role.
Another delight of the movie was Dixie Carter bringing spunk to the role of Jane's mother Frederica. Other noteworthy performances are by Paul Dooley (Jane's father) and of course, the children.
The DVD version features a twenty-two minute featurette with cast interviews on topics ranging from destiny to holiday movies to dysfunctional family situations during the holidays.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun movie that'll put a smile on your face.

A Very Charming Christmas Movie!
by
Comfort and Joy is a great Christmas movie, it was made for the Lifetime Television channel and it is now available on DVD. It stars Nancy McKeon and Stephen Eckholdt who both turn in some good acting performances in a movie that is similar to the Nicholas Cage movie Family Man and Stephen Eckholdt is really cute too and he reminds me of actor Mark Rufalow. Comfort and Joy is about a single workaholic businesswoman named Jane who bumps her head and wakes up to find herself living a life as a housewife and mother with no memory of any of it and thinking she has lost her mind. Okay Like I said before Nancy McKeon and Stephen Eckholdt are good in this movie but so are Dixie Carter and Paul Dooley as Jane's bickering parents and the child actors were good too and I highly recommend this movie!

Fine Holiday Fare
by Bronxgal (Bronx, NY)
A Lifetime Original Movie, this is a very similar film to Nicholas Cage's "Family Man." Nancy McKeon plays a very sucessful, yet emotionally unsatisfied, corporate executive. She is the epitome of the "21st century woman"- independent, powerful, beautiful apartment, expensive car- but is she really happy? Her empty relationship with a co-worker and dysfunctional family make it especially difficult to just plow through the holiday season without taking stock of what her life has become. Despite her outward success, the unspoken question in her mind is " How did I get here?" The idea of a different life is put to the test when she has an accident and wakes up in an alternate reality as a wife, mother and pillar of her community. She also sees how her different life choices affect those around her. The alternate life does not come without its compromises (no expensive car or clothes in this version of life), but do the pros outweigh the cons? Are the benefits of this "new" life enough to make her stay? Are the experiences in the alternate life fulfilling enough to make her want to jump ship and set her sights for a new shore? I won't answer that question. You'll have to see how it turns out for yourself. It is a great movie for anyone who has ever wondered "what if" or who has thought that "the grass is always greener on the other side." It is a story about finding your life's balance and knowing that, whatever you choose, does not come without its sacrifices. Those sacrifices, however, if it's the right choice for you, are a small price to pay for true happiness and living your best life.

Enjoyable!
by Mike and Shannon (Utah)
I seen this movie on lifetime, (I try to watch as many Christmas movies as I can). I didn't think I would like it at first, but I truley did. Nancy McKean gets in an accident and wakes up to a different life. She lived a very busy life by herself, she wakes up to a husband and children and doesn't want to be there. It has been a year since I have seen the movie I can't really remember how it ends, alls I know is that it is a good movie and I can't wait to catch it again.

Solid Christmas Fare
by Suzie Ven (Roy, UT USA)
I love movies that offer the "what if" scenario. Nancy McKeon is down to earth and very likeable in her lead role. As the film begins, McKeon is presented as a very successful career woman, who lives alone. On her way home from the office, on Christmas eve, her car hits a patch of black ice and she swerves out of control, bumping her head in the process. What follows is akin to the plot in "The Family Man" (although not as well done). The man that rushes to her aid, claims to be her husband. He ushers her into the house across the street, despite her arguments, where two solicitous children begin calling her "mom." McKeon embarks on a journey to discover what is real and what is fantasy. It was a cute show.
