Are yall out of your minds?!
by Jason Vaughn (USA)
You people must be out of your minds to be giving this movie 1 and 2 stars. I own the alpha 2 pack but i wanted to give a review for this movie by itself. Alot of people are saying the animation on this movie is bad but i think it is very creative and unique animation. Unfortunately, different and unique things in life usually get called bad or sucky instead of creative. I like that these animators didnt follow the crowd with their anime in this movie. I think its really cool how they made the characters look as simple as possible but then made all the backgrounds and atmosphere around the characters look super real and pop like a good color tattoo. As for the story, it is pretty different but it gives us street fighter fans a different way of looking at the characters we know and love. At the end of the day, street fighter is about good vs. evil and this prequel movie to alpha the movie delivers just that. As far as teh old man in this movie goes, i think it was really cool to add some mystery to Ryu's origins. Thats what make him such a likeable character. He's mysterious and an awesome fighter to boot. So people, dont listen to the other reviewers on here. This movie is well worth owning. The anime is awesome, the story is pretty good, and the music kicks a**. almost just as much as Ryu does.

Wow! Really as bad as everyone says.
by Mir Rooshanak (Los Angeles, California United States)
I watched this after watching the Street Fighter II V series. I didn't like the animation in Generations and after reading other people's reviews I can say the animation is crap.
I want to say the story was good, but I am not even sure I understood it. If I were teaching a class on story telling I would use Generations as a perfect example of how NOT to tell a story. It jumps around and doesn't develop any character properly. Maybe it's due to time constraints (45mins).
I can't even recommend this as background viewing while you're on your computer or doing something else.
Generations is the equivelant of Dragon's Lair for the NES. Probably the worst POS I've seen in my life. The only redeeming value is that it is Street Fighter and includes Ryu, Ken, Akuma, and Sakura.
Generations makes the Street Fighter USA series look like gold.

OK
by Rockstar Romeraux (Baker,Louisiana)
I saw this movie one Monday night on Sci-Fi, and I can tell you that it isn't the best street fighter movie iv'e seen. The story is about Akuma's turn to the Dark Hadou style, and once again Ryu goes into another deadly battle with Akuma. The only difference is that we finally see Ryu win!!!!! Anyways the action is cool, but they could've done better with the plot.

The Best addition to street fighter Yet.
by M. Rojas (New York City, NY USA)
Street Fighter Alpha Gen. Is a cool movie and even better was the story that delved into akuma. One of street fighters most mysterious and cool characters. I loved the animation and the plot was very well written. Generations is a must buy for street fighter fans and even more so to anime fans in general.

Not teeken but decent
by
This is about the fourth street fighte movie that been made since the original game was released 20 years ago back in mid 1980s. A word of warning due to mild violence frequent super graphic and gory distubring images, in addition to occasional nudity, and drug use this movie might not be appropriate or may be questionable to kids unde the age of 14 depending on what there parent's or guardians think is appropriate for there age. This is a really short movie about 3/4 the runing time of the Tekken movie. There are some okay fighting scenes in it but there brief. Ryu in this prequel to Street Fighter Alp ryu travels back for the anniversary of the murder of his master who was killed my Gokui a student with demonic energy which also flows inside of RYU and Ken who you rarerly see in this movie. If you like this I also recommend you see street fighter Alpa and street fighter II which are also animated. There is also a live action street fighter movie which came out around the time the movie for super Mario Brothers movie was released however some of the characters like Dalsin are excluded from the movie and most of the characters except for Bison and Blanka do not have there supernatural powers or abilites at any time during the whole movie from begining to the end including the credits. Will ryu avenge his deas master
Street Fighter Alpha - Generations Summary
When Ryu Returns To Pay Homage To His Deceased Mentor Gouken He Is Tormented By Disturbing Memories Of His Masters Killer. In A Quest To Become A True Martial Arts Master He Sets Out To Hone His Street Fighting Skills & Deliver Himself From The Haunting Legacy Of The Dark Hadou. Studio: Starz/sphe Release Date: 10/25/2005 Run Time: 45 Minutes Rating: Pg13
The OVA
Alpha Generations
serves as a prequel to the popular
Street Fighter
continuity that includes two movies, a TV series, and another OVA. (There's also a live-action
Street Fighter
based on the same video game.) Ryu returns to the mountains where he lived as a child to visit the grave of his original martial arts master: Gouken was killed by Gouki, a renegade student who embraced the "dark Hadou." Much of the back story is related by an old monk who helps Ryu in his training and explains the ancient origins of the evil Hadou that turned Gouki into a demon. The monk's wisdom and the gentle presence of his granddaughter prepare Ryu for his inevitable battle with Gouki. The minimal plot unfolds in disjointed fragments, but fans of the
Street Fighter
series aren't looking for compelling narratives: As four members of Japanese cast say in the special feature, "watch the fighting scenes." (Unrated, suitable for ages 15 and older: violence, grotesque imagery, brief nudity, alcohol and tobacco use)
