All time favorite season!!!
by Cathyp (Chicago, IL)
Season 5 of Roseanne was by far my favorite season when it came to reality on a TV series. So many real things happened this season.

a little piece of home
by A. Gschwilm (Germany/USA)
So I am now the proud owner of every single season of Roseanne! I bought the first couple seasons in Germany because I live there and I was getting homesick. As soon as I watched the first season I remembered why I always loved the show.... They remind me of my own family. Well, minus the crappy furniture and high school drop-outs anyway. It is def. the most realistic show I've ever seen. I have lived in Germany for three and a half years now and I am still adjusting to the people here. They are not as warm and friendly as the Americans are and so when I put on Roseanne it takes me back home. Not that Roseanne would be classified as "friendly", but the Conner family is def. very open and loving (in a different kind of way). If you are away from home or you are just sick and tired of the mindless garbage that they call TV nowadays, then "Roseanne" is just what you need. I am so happy I bought it and it was worth every penny!

Great Season Just Because of Episode 109
by M. Lawlor
Season five is decent for various reasons but I would highly recommend it for no other reason than episode 109 titled "It's No Place Like Home for the Holidays". During the episode the Connors find themselves scattered throughout Lanford on Christmas Eve due to a massive snow storm. Dan, and DJ are left to cook Christmas dinner at home with Nancy and Marla (constantly under the mistletoe) and at David's house, Darlene gets a better look at his abusive home life. I'd say the real magic of the episode is at the Lunchbox, where Roseanne, Jackie, and Bev ponder the meaning of life and how to decorate Nana Mary. This is a great Christmas themed sitcom episode!

Roseanne is always a dependable laugh! Her 5th season is no different. Shipped & arrived just as described.

The best season... Period!!!
by ADRIENNE MILLER (TENNESSEE)
Roseanne - The Complete Fifth Season is a slam dunk! I love, love, love every episode from season 5. The show really came into its own, the writing is stellar to say the least. Becky elopes with Mark, Darlene and David continue to date and he moves in with the Connor's after Roseanne finds out his mother is verbally and phyiscally abusive. Jackie falls for Fisher, a much younger guy who eventually hits her in the best episode of the entire series, Crime and Punishment Parts 1 and 2. Roseanne opens the Lunch Box, a loose meat restuarant and etc. I HIGHLY recommend this season, enjoy!
Roseanne - The Complete Fifth Season Summary
One of the major family sitcoms of the late 1980s/early 1990s ROSEANNE became popular for its no-nonsense attitude and its humorously honest portrayal of American life. With a set resembling the living room of countless family homes across the United States the show concerned itself the with the antics of its main star Roseanne Barr (later Roseanne Arnold) her husband Dan (John Goodman) and their kids. More like a regular working-class family than any other characters previously seen on television the Illinois-bred Connors use brutal honesty and acerbic wit to raise their three children: rapidly maturing Becky sarcastic Darlene and precocious DJ. Meanwhile they have to deal with the typical problems of an American family such as annoying relatives worries about jobs and money and the struggle to find time for themselves. ROSEANNE was among the first shows on television to deal in a truthful and deglamorized way with everyday issues that average viewers could relate to--and it managed to remain funny and touching while doing so. All 25 uncut episodes from the show's fifth season are included here as well as an interview with the show's star.
