love the rerelease but do not like how it is done.
by Charles M. Casterline (Fairbanks)
first of all i must say dragonball was the very reasion why i got into anime, i loved it when i was growing up. but as i got more into anime i notced how heavly edited the english version was even the "unrated" when the rereleased them i was like "well better give them a chance to get it right" seasion 1 2 and 3 i was impresseed with how well it was done, they left all of the orginal songs in the english version except for the opening for some oddness, they left in roshi snaking in a fell every chance he gets, and all the deleted episodes and stuff so it made more easyer to get what was going on. i am not as impressed with seasion 5 because of one simple faq it is more like a half of seasion, they wasted time by sticking 2 to 3 episodes on half of the discs, can not call that a seasion they r just milking it way to far with that, it is like after season 3 they just did not care about doing it right and just wanted to piss people off. they could have easyly combined the cell games in this seasion and just called the the "cell saga" wow what a concept right? i felt ripped off when i put in a disc turn it on and then i already have to change it befor i can get comfy. but all and all dbz is a series that was needed to be rereleased in english so thats why the 4 out of 5 now if only they get the rights to DB season 1 so they can rerelease all of dragonball

Incredible "DragonBall Z" boxset!
by Dbzgirl
I've been a diehard "DragonBall Z", "DragonBall GT", and "DragonBall" fan ever since I was six years old and I love this DVD boxset! Continuing from where the Androids Saga (from the Season Four set) left off, eventually, Trunks and the rest of the good guys find a discarded exoskeleton that Imperfect Cell, another of my favorite villains from the show, and Dr.Gero's greatest creation, had when he was in his larvae form, after coming from Trunks' alternate timeline, and the good guys soon find out that, Cell, with his scorpion-like, needle-like tail, has been absorbing people in cities across the world, trying to absorb Androids 17 and 18 so he can get his perfect form, become Perfect Cell, and rule the world/get rid of all people living in it, so the good guys find and eventually battle against him. Throughout the sagas, Goku becomes affected by the heart virus Trunks told him he was going to get from his saga in the second-to-last saga from the other boxset, he recovers from it eventually, Imperfect Cell absorbs Android 17, becomes his second form, Semi-Perfect Cell, then after a while, absorbs Android 18 and becomes Perfect Cell, and near the end of the Perfect Cell saga, announces his Cell Games Tournament, which leads up to the next boxset, Season 6 (Cell Games Saga). You get all of the episodes from Season Five(Imperfect Cell and Perfect Cell Sagas combined), such as the one before it and "Piccolo's Folly", where Piccolo battles against Imperfect Cell and tricks him into telling him where he came from and how Dr.Gero made him so Piccolo can regenerate his arm that Cell had absorbed, the one where Android 16 battles against Cell and Cell absorbs Android 17, and the one where Perfect Cell announces his Cell Games Tournament. The only things that I miss from this boxset are that there's no scene selection feature and that the American music that Bruce Faulconer made isn't there, but the show is still amazing! I love this boxset and I can't wait to get it and the rest of the "DragonBall Z", "DragonBall GT", and "DragonBall" boxsets that I don't have yet!

The Bug Man .
by themysticanimal (dubai,uae.)
There are no stories in Dragon Ball Z , only excuses to get into a fight , and the main excuse for this season is the Bug Man , Cell , a bug genetically engineered from the cells of the good and evil fighter of the past , and guess what ? He wants to fight .
The same , appreciated , fold-in box set of six CD's and a booklet , with the first and second CD's containing six episode each , the third five and the rest three episodes .
Why am I still buying it ? The fights , the price and I liked the
manga .
We need Dragon Ball Kai .

The artificial humans 17 and 18 who terrorized Earth in Season #4 of
Dragon Ball Z
were only a preliminary threat: Dr. Gero's ultimate creation, Cell, strikes in Season #5. A bio-entity created from genetic material taken from Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Frieza, Cell arrives via the time capsule Bulma built for Trunks. (There are now two of them, somehow.) Although he defeats the merged Piccolo and Kami, Cell remains imprisoned in his "imperfect form," a sort of larval stage. Until he absorbs androids 17 and 18, he can't attain his ultimate power. Vegeta and Trunks train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber at Kami's palace, which enables them to undergo the equivalent of a year's heavy workouts at high gravity in one day. Transcending his powers as a Super Saiyan, Vegeta clobbers Cell. When Cell challenges Vegeta to fight his perfect form. Vegeta takes the bait and allows Cell to evolve. The perfect Cell proves so powerful, Trunks has to draw on untapped reserves of power to save Vegeta. Goku plays only a small role in Season #5: he spends the first episodes recovering from the heart virus, then waiting with Gohan for the Hyperbolic Chamber or training in it. One of best-loved stories in the
Dragon Ball Z
continuity the "Cell Saga" offers plenty of action, with characters punching each other through rock walls and destroying entire islands as they fight. But it ends on a weak note when, instead of killing Trunks, Cell challenges the Z Fighters to a martial arts tournament--the focus of Season #6. The paradoxes of the time travel story, including adult Trunks encountering himself as a baby, don't seem to bother the fans--or the writers. These 26 episodes could have easily fit on five discs or even four, and spreading them over six feels chintzy.(Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes)
