Could've been better
Rookie FBI agent, "Johnny Utah" (Keanu Reeves) has been assigned to the Los Angeles in to the Bank Robbery Division fresh out of training. He is a bit gung-ho, and is partnered up with a veteran (Gary Busey) who is fairly similar to him.

Point Break
A great movie. Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze were awesome, as usual, and their characters just pulled me in to their 'lives'. I don't usually enjoy action movies, but this I loved, and would actually go as far to say that this is my favo...

Point Break Needs to Give Me a Break
It still amazes me that people cast Keanu in anything. He's probably one of the worst actors of his generation. Given that, this movie was bad enough that it didn't matter. Could the name Johnny Utah be any more corny? And trying to ma...

Ever fired your gun in the air and gone AHHHH!?
Keanu Reeves in what is pretty much considered to be his first serious movie. Skydiving. Surfing. Robberies. As if that wasn't enough, NIGHT surfing. Yes my friends, it's not wrong to die doing something you love, and if you can forgive Re...

Point Break Quick Review

Point Break Quick Review
A pretty good crime/action hybrid with Keaun being all he can be - with Patrick Swayze to boot! The plot isn't the greatest, but if you ignore the more ludicrous aspects, it turns out okay. One of those films that brings back 90s nostalgia.

re-watching "Point Break", I re-lived a time when I thought Keanu Reeves was the coolest(still do!) B+

Point Break Quick Review
I really liked this one. I am almost embarrassed to say it, but with the exception of The Matrix, this may be Keanu's best film.

Does any one know if the Pan Scan problem was fixed on Blu Ray? Thanks!

Amazing
by Aileen Maynard (Lindley, NY)
Point Break is an amazing, well-thought out movie with Patrick Swayze(whom we will miss), and Keanu Reeves.
I would highly recommend this film as it is enjoyable.

An underrated classic
by bodhi (California, USA)
Point break is the best action film ever made by far. The plot is intriguing and unique, the action scenes are brutally realistic and it is hard to decide whether or not to root for the hero or the villain. The film follows and FBI agent that goes undercover as a surfer to snare a gang of adrenaline addicted bank robbing surfers. Surprisingly there are many complaints out there about this film. Many say that this film is silly and unrealistic. They just don't get that there are people out there that could get this addicted to adrenaline. The plot is also ten times more realistic than that of Die Hard, Speed or any Lethal Weapon. Another complaint is that the film starts slow. So what if it takes 30 minutes for action to start, that's actually good since the plot is building momentum and the action scenes in the movie are some of the best ever filmed. The surfing and skydiving also help distinguish it from the typical shoot 'em up. The people who don't like this movie are the people who enjoy plotless effects driven crap like Aliens or Terminator. Point Break deserves not only to be considered as one of the best action movies, but it deserves to be reverred as a great overall film.

What's up with Fox and blu-ray?
by ocelot99 (Zurich, Switzerland)
No HD glory here, only smeared faces. The worst looking blu-rays in my collection:
-Die Hard
-Predator 2
-Point Break
They're all Fox titles! And it's such a shame as "Point Break" is really an excellent movie.
It's not like they don't know how to do it, "Speed" looks great.

only the best movie ever
by Charles David Goodrich (YOU ESS AYE)
this movie is best. Kathryn Bigelow is the best director ever. Dont believe me? take a look at k19: the widowmaker. for serious. that movie is like point break, but under the water.

An unbelievable movie, and deliriously better for it. Keanu Reeves is a hotshot law enforcement dude--Johnny Utah by name--investigating a series of bank robberies in L.A. Four gunmen, disguised in rubber masks of ex-U.S. presidents, have never come close to being caught, but veteran agent Gary Busey has a theory: The bandits are surfers. This prompts the superb line, "The ex-presidents rip off banks to finance the endless summer!" This movie's full of dialogue like that, but instead of sounding ridiculous it creates its own infectious comic-book energy--ride the crest of it and you'll find the film's giddy zone. Patrick Swayze plays Bodhi, zen-master leader of the surfing clan, humming serenely with the wisdom of the waves. (Alarmingly, Swayze also did his own skydiving stunts.) Director Kathryn Bigelow (
Strange Days
) stages the action sequences with a visceral snap, and clearly has a gift for orchestrating pulp fiction. Though not a huge hit when was first released,
Point Break
has a well-deserved cult reputation thanks to its video afterlife. The film's executive producer is James Cameron, Bigelow's husband at the time.
