Save your money.
by Jason W. Murphy (APO, AE United States)
This movie was infinitely boring. It should have been titled "Wimp and Snora's Infinite mind-numbing experience". I was so thankful I rented this atrocity thru Netflix and didn't pay the full cost of seeing this boring piece of **** at the theater.

Great movie
by Daniel B. Polinsky (New York, NY, USA)
I saw this randomly on Starz and absolutely fell in love with it. It helps that I can appreciate and awkward, coming-of-age teen romantic comedy, but as far as love song tributes to the city of New York, this one is right up there.
And in Blu-Ray, the city really sparkles.

a great idea but the heart was awkwardly inserted...
by Jonathan Cardwell (Cape Retardo, MO)
Ok, I rented this film and couldn't watch the whole thing 'cause the writing, or at least a good portion of it, was just childish; basically, we're watching these teens getting ready to go to a concert; that COULD be the backdrop for some good scenes, moments captured on film, but all is it is meaningless chit chat and mechanical "yay"s. I think anyone watching this film knows how people generally react to good news ("Flu-ffy, Flu-ffy!...", insert mini-dance, "Flu-ffy!"...what kind of a name for a band is that anyway? I wouldn't question it that much if the scenes involving the teens excitement were a bit more well executed).
This is just another one of those films where people talk, stuff happens, but the dialogue and action are about as stiff as a 200 year old corpse. There's no flow to the film, no creativity or vision, just a bunch of kids hanging out and being happy and sad and...who cares? I guess some people do, but it just seems like a waste of time in my opinion. I'd much rather BE happy and sad and CARE rather than watch a bunch of people I'll never meet do it for me.

"It was a great night, my hetero heroine"
by Byron Kolln (the corner where Broadway meets Hollywood)
No, this isn't a modern-day spin on the "Thin Man" characters...
Peter Sollett ("Raising Victor Vargas") directs this unexpected, super-sweet teen comedy based on the novel by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. It disappointingly flew under the radar when released last year, but a deserved cult following is steadily growing for NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST.
Nick (Michael Cera from "Superbad" and "Juno") has just broken up with his cheating girlfriend, Tris (Alexis Dziena). Norah (Kat Dennings), one of Tris's schoolmates, has never met Nick, but already considers him a "musical soul-mate" based on Nick's outstanding mix CDs that she manages to salvage after Tris tosses them. When legendary indie band Where's Fluffy? announces it will be playing a mystery location somewhere in New York, Nick and Norah set out with their respective groups for a wild night...
There isn't much more to the slight storyline, but this merely adds to the charm. Playing like a Gen. Y cross between "The Breakfast Club" and "After Hours", NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST is the most refreshing teen comedy I've seen in a long, long, looooong time! Michael Cera and Kat Dennings are adorable in the lead roles, Ari Graynor is hilarious as Norah's drunken best friend Caroline; and Aaron Yoo and Rafi Gavron are solid in their support as Nick's colourful bandmates.
The Blu-ray comes stacked with bonus features, including Cinechat (an online BD-Live facility which allows you to "chat" with friends and compile your own favourite songs from the soundtrack as the movie plays), a "Nick & Norah Puppet Show" performed by Kat Dennings, deleted scenes/outtakes and on-set video diaries.
This movie comes with my highest recommendation!

a surprising good and funny teen movie
by R. Bagula (Lakeside, Ca United States)
The boy with the sheep dog eyes meets the girl who loves his
mix cds made for his previous girl friend.
The night of adventure for the partying kids is very realistic
with drunk scenes. I liked this movie because
the people seemed closer to real teenagers that most of these movies.
Finding Fluffy seems to be their goal?
Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist (+ BD Live) [Blu-ray] Summary
Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 02/03/2009 Run Time: 89 Minutes Rating: Pg13
In the big-screen version of Rachel Cohn and David Levithan's popular young adult novel, two high-school seniors fall in love over the course of one eventful evening. A straight bass player in a queercore band, Nick (
Juno
's Michael Cera) has just been dumped by the two-timing Tris (Alexis Dziena). He's committed to making more self-pitying mix CDs until his bandmates convince him to help track down a top-secret rock concert. Meanwhile, Norah (
Charlie Bartlett
's Kat Dennings) and her hard-partying pal, Caroline (Ari Graynor), set off on the same journey. Nora had never met Nick, but she already had a crush on him (While attending the same school as Tris, she's been enjoying the mixes Nick keeps making--and Tris keeps throwing away). When the inebriated Caroline goes missing, they spend the rest of the night racing around the Lower East Side in his Yugo looking for the friend, the show, and trying to avoid Tris (Norah's ex-boyfriend, Tal (
Tropic Thunder
's Jay Baruchel), presents further complications). Peter Sollett's follow-up to
Raising Victor Vargas
aims to please several audiences at once. It starts out like a less dirty-minded
Superbad
, morphs into a post-millennial
After Hours
, and ends as a Big Apple take on
Before Sunset
. It's sweet and funny, but could use more of its own identity, though Cera and Dennings make for an appealing couple and the supporting performers, especially Graynor and Kevin Corrigan in a wordless cameo, enhance the proceedings considerably.
