Vicente Fernandez Primera Fila is a blu-ray to own if you love mariachi music and HD music concerts on blu-ray discs. The video quality for the most part is good but sometimes goes a little out of focus. Colors are rich and natural. Details in the musician's faces, clothing, and instruments are clear. The disc only features a 5.1 Dolby Digital and 2.0 stereo soundtrack, but still sounds excellent when amplified through a good multi-channel home theatre system. In fact, the audio is so good that there wasn't a moment I didn't feel drawn in by Vicente's passionate and harmonic vocals and the precision playing by his backing mariachi ensemble. The setlist was excellent too, featuring many of his well known songs like, "El Rey", "Mujeres Divinas", "La Ley Del Monte", and many others. The venue was small but nice adding to the intimate feeling of the show. This is a wonderful musical presentation in high definition by one of Mexico's premier artists, Vicente Fernandez, and would recommend it to mariachi music lovers everywhere.

Five Stars is not enough to describe another stupendous musical presentation from El Numero Uno of Ranchera Music. Even for those that have never heard of his music, Vicente Fernandez delivers from his heart the utmost feeling of respect and esteem for his listening audience, with a passion and purity that only a select few of entertainers ever achieve. While Vicente is enjoying life into his seventies, he delivers his songs with a fire and passion and at times able to envoke sorrow because he not only feels this passion, but is able to communicate his sincere feelings to his audience via his songs. This is a proud and humble man that was made for singing Mexican Ranchera music as only few can. Vicente's musical interpretations range from singing material written by Jose Alfredo Jimenez, an icon in this musical style to new material written by Joan Sabestian. While older generations of followers may remember some songs interpreted by Pedro Infante, Jorje Negrette, Franscisco "Charro" Avita, and Jose Alredo Jimenez, Vicente has learned well from these past giants, in that Vicente Fernandez delivers his songs with the perfect tonal range and harmony now after five decades of a professional singing and acting career. Vicente's own Mariachi "Azteca" and orchestra respond to the musical arrangements with the same passion for purity and flawless perfection, concert masters in their own right indeed. This Blue Ray DVD offers a superb picture quality, close ups, different angles and the sound was vivid and crystal clear. Vicente's voice and musical instruments can be heard clearly and distinctly from a 2.1 to 7.1 channel sound systems. For those millions that have witnessed his concerts or have bought his music, and even to those thousands that have not been to any of his concerts or ever heard his music, this DVD is a MUST HAVE! Vicente Fernandez never disapoints, values his audience dearly, his concerts always last about three hours non stop due to his appreciation and esteem for his audience. Very few entertainers have much quality material to last one hour, much less span a career for over five decades and many are labeled as mega stars by the tabloids. Vicente Fernandez is the real deal, no filler entertainment material ever and that is why he is awarded both ears, the tail, and many standing ovations for another superb FAENA!
