Slow, Boring, Scary.........How Bad It Was.
by JMDiablo (Woodbridge, VA)
Purchased this movie based on several rave reviews I read on the net. Ordered it quickly from Amazon and man what a waste of time and money. Aside from the lead actress, very bad acting, slow pace, the religious nut were way over the top and not enough demons. Complete bore, don't waste your pennies or time.

Horrible and offensive... and not in a good way
by C. Yost
This movie has no redeeming quality about it. I'm not a religious person, but was offended at how they used a religion to write a plot... and a horrible one at that.
I can sum up how horribly offending this movie is with the scene that made me eject the disc. In the name of God, a pregnant woman volunteers to get stabbed to death in her stomach. The next scene is her and her husband dead and bloody with the unborn dead bloody fetus put on top.
Even if not offensive, the movie has some of the worst acting I've ever seen (and I've seen some bad movies) and a plot that goes nowhere.

So THIS is what church is all about...
by LeviDevi "Bubman" (Frankfort, KY USA)
I believe the Baptists have finally gotten together and made themselves a movie--and that movie is called "End of the Line." From what I could tell, a church (cult) with many, many, followers (yeah; Baptists I'm sure) decide they need to murder everyone who is not a member of their religion in order to save them from the demons who are coming. They have devices like you're given at restaurants (when you have to wait for a table) that "buzz" to let them know when to go on their murderous rampage, and they buzz again to let them all know its over--and they can all proceed to a mass suicide.
According to director Maurice Devereaux, who directed this mess, this is his vision of what scares him. I'll admit that most churches scare me, too, but not this mess of a movie. It seems now that all it takes to receive a positive review are LOTS of blood and "good kills." This movie does offer some blood; I'm not sure what classifies as a good kill. And the demons? Ooooh; scary. They look like the Sleezstaks from the original TV series "Land of the Lost"--only they have big red eyes. I'm trembling.
The movie is unrated and lasts 95 minutes. It is directed by Maurice Devereaux and stars no one you've ever heard of.

Not bad, for today's standards anyway
by M. Ryan Fairbanks (Cleveland, Ohio)
End of the Line is some nice low budget horror concerning a cult of religious fanatics who hijack a subway train. You see, when their leader "the reverand" declares that the apocalypse is upon us, he distributes a mass text message to his followers ordering them to slay all those around them in order to send the non-believer's soiled souls to heaven before it's too late. But is this a typical case of blind, religious fanaticism, or is the reverand on to something with his doomsday predictions?
With the religious commentary aspect aside, End of the Line is a bit of a mixed bag. It maintains a good level of suspense, and has a nice brisk pace that keeps things exciting. There are also a number of great gory sequences here done with good old fashioned practical effects that are sure to please gore fans. On the other hand, End of the Line does suffer from some undeveloped characters. We become well acquainted with the main character Karen, but the rest of the protagonists just sort of trickle in as the movie goes and most of them don't serve much more purpose than body count boosters. The acting ranges from good to bad, and a lot of the dialogue is just ludicrous. While this may not always be problematic where horror is concerned, it's certainly detrimental for a movie that takes itself as seriously as End of the Line does.
Overall an interesting movie that explores a different type of horror than the norm. Not to mention the excellent and creepy ending that alone is worth giving End of the Line a watch. Recommended for hardcore horror fans.

Surprisingly enjoyable...
by Low-Ranking Reviewer (US of A)
...considering it started out so badly for me. Some cheap scares at the beginning, cheap/sparse looking sets(especially the train compartments), the over-sexed young couple cliche, religious nuts on the loose plot-line, etc. All this conspired against the movie and made me want to shut it off early on, but i couldn't cause it was a rental and my gf wanted to see it through.
And i'm glad i did. Cause somewhere along the way, as the survivors gathered together and united against the zealots, i actually began to care or like them. This is very rare in horror films for me cause usually i find characters in horror films tend to be annoying to the point where i just end up rooting for the killer or monster to dispose of them in a gory fashion. Or, i only see them as a means to further the plot or action. Or, i usually care for only the lead performer(s).
Not so with this low-budget gem. I actually wanted to see most, if not all of them, make it through. I wanted that Asian chick to get here revenge on her attacker, the 'over-sexed' young couple mentioned earlier to escape their predicament, the two railway workers, the two leads, the tough guy trying to lead the group...i wanted, or wouldn't have mind, if most of the people survived this film and was glued to the screen to see who would and how. Bad news, not all of them make it. But i'll let you watch it to see who makes it and who doesn't.
I can't persuade you to watch this movie cause of the scenery, action, or effects(although it is rather bloody) since it's a low budget horror. But it does have some nice atmosphere, chills, and creepiness-factor that some horror films today severely lack. And it has something most horror films today don't have- a group of people you may actually like, care about, identify with, or root for.
Btw, the dvd had a few extras but i had to return the rental disc before i could access them. I really would have liked to check out the commentary though to see what went through the director's mind when putting this film together. Worth a watch and definitely recommended as a rental.
End of the Line Summary
Karen, a young psychiatric nurse, boards the last subway train of the night only to have it stop in the middle of the tunnel. As those around her are brutally murdered, Karen and a handful of survivors must face the homicid
