Fiordiligi: ANN CHRISTINE BIELDorabella: MARIA HÖGLINDFerrando: LARS TIBELLGuglielmo: MAGNUS LINDENDespina: ULLA SEVERINAlfonso: ENZO FLORIMO
This comic opera buffa in two acts was commissioned to Mozart by Emperor Josef II subtitled The School for Lovers. In eighteenth-century Naples, the cynical Don Alfonso discusses women with two young officers, Ferrando and Guglielmo. The gallants insist their sweet-hearts Fiordiligi and Dorabella are virtue itself, and accept Alfonso's wager that he can prove the ladies fickle if they follow his instructions for twenty-four hours.
Kultur is proud to present Mozart from the intimate setting of Sweden's Drottningholm Court Theatre, dating back to 1766, providing a perfect stage for these operas and featuring excellent casts and superb directors, accompanied by period instruments for a truly authentic experience.

'Excellent standard... notable for the clarity of the period-instrument sound and for a production wholly appropriate to the tiny Drottningholm space.' Gramophone
