The boys from the dwarf
by A. A. Hawes (doylestown, PA United States)
It fun, and a favorite show of this fan. It was great to see the back in character. Thy are looking a bit older now but it was still good fun, fun,fun in the sun, sun ,sun. Bonus features are pretty much what you have come to expect from the DVDs.

Great addition to the Red Dwarf compilation
by Rickey G
Originally saw episodes of this series on a PBS station here in the U.S.; had to see more, was a little disappointed when I found out they were discontinuing Red Dwarf.
Had my hopes up for quite some time for either a movie or U.S. version. After seeing some of the proposals from U.S. broadcasting, I'm glad they didn't go that route. Although, I feel with a little work it would still be feasible and widely accepted especially with the amount of following series like Stargate and other SyFy shows get.
With all that aside, I had received the complete box set as a Christmas present a year ago; have even watched them with my eight year old son who has definitely enjoyed watching them so much so, that I sometimes find the the disks in his room. When I found that they were making a movie length edition in line with the TV episodes I was thrilled. After watching it a couple of times with my son have truly felt this is a great addition to the collection. The only draw back that I noticed is the gap from the TV episodes going through series eight then you jump to "Back to Earth"; the movie is setup as taking place after series 10 and, with only a few references in the movie there is a bit left unexplained; at least for what was released here in the U.S.
In all this is a must have for those who are fans; it's "smeggin" great. And, if you like sci-fi and comedy and have not seen Red Dwarf I'd highly recommend it but, you would need to see most of the original broadcasts to really understand the whole of it.

Back th Earth
by L. F. Cummins (Oak Harbor, WA)
Classic Red Dwarf with twists and turns enough to spin your head around. A total hoot to watch.

Back to the Posse
by The Oldephart (Clearfield, Utah, USA)
Wonderful nostalgia .. I was kind of disappointed with the workings of the plot and disagree with the producers statement that this was one of the dwarf's best story lines but over all it was great to see them back. I missed seeing my favorite girl as part of the posse but at least she passed through along with another sweety (although brief). I recommend this dvd to any dwarfer and wait for a revamp of the series.

A must for any Red Dwarf Fan
by Paul A. Alcock (NZ)
Long awaited is more shows or material from the Red Dwarf writers and cast. Luckily they are all reunited in this short but great series.
The extras are well worth it as well.
Such a pity no full length feature film has been produced yet. Maybe our Peter Jackson and Mr Naylor need to get together to make it happen.
Red Dwarf: Back to Earth Summary
The boys are back, and while they may be older, they re still none the wiser. The crew discover a dimension-hopping leviathan, but Rimmer is threatened with replacement by the new, improved holograph Katrina. She is determined to guide Lister to his home planet, but no one is prepared for Earth 2009, where the hapless crew face death unless they can track down their creators. The Red Dwarf crew r

It was a long time coming, but finally the crew of the
Red Dwarf
were reunited for what could be the last time with
Back to Earth
. And it proved to be a bit of a mixed blessing, with all three parts throwing up moments of absolute genius, alongside parts where you couldn’t help believing that its best days are far behind it. The idea behind the show is quite ingenious.
Back to Earth
takes place after the supposed season 10 of
Red Dwarf
, and the crew find themselves thrown through a portal, at which time they realize that they’re all just characters from a TV show. Furthermore, they’re characters from a TV show who are going to all buy it in the final episode. The only solution? To track down both the actors that play them (including a trip to the set!), and the creators of
Red Dwarf
itself. This opens the door for plenty of postmodern gags and situations, but arguably it’s only when things get back into more familiar territory that they start to gel a little more. And when they work, you can’t help but enjoy the fact that the crew are back together. Will this be the last voyage for
Red Dwarf
? Quite possibly, and there’s little doubt that it’s far from the show’s peak. But it’s still a fun and entertaining send-off.
