Ahhh! Snakes? on a what..?
"Wow". That's the feeling I got when I saw this movie. The beginning gives this movie a complete misconception on what this movie is going to be like. First you're like, "cool guns and action" then by the end your like "what the heck?". Th...

Film being Pure
I didn't see this movie until it came out on DVD. And interestingly enough, I didn't even rent it. I found it for a decent price at a used music and movie place near my old apartment in LA; so I bought it.
My first piece of what Soa...

If you like it bad, this snake will make you moan
This movie's knows just how bad it is -- and it couldn't get worse. There's something respectable about that. Something noble.
Viewers who take this film at face value will miss what it's all about. I read this movie as a statement a...

Snakes on a Plane Quick Review
Falls into the so-bad-it's-good category. Samuel L. Jackson makes the movie, even if the story is ludicrous and the effects sub-par. Does not live up to any of the hype, but still was fun to watch for me.

Snakes on a Plane Quick Review
So wait. Was this supposed to be cheese? I couldn't tell. I like cheese that is well done (Grindhouse) not terribly written (Snakes on a Plane). There were about 2 good lines in the entire film (the obvious one) but the rest was terrible.

Unfair To Snakes!
by A Customer (L.A.)
Unfair To Snakes, actors, audience and filmdom. An intentionally bad film that is still bad; but fun. Like a Twinkie. Snakes don't act like this and a scientist tells us. Films aren't made like this; except without viewer support; but you have to look that up. Internet phenomenon film freak! FutureFanFilm is a stand alone. Intentionally bad but satisfying, well done and stupid. Tops in sound and picture is up there, way up there...

What was Samuel L. Jackson thinking???
by Deborah A. Zemke (Countryside, Illinois USA)
This is without a doubt the worst movie I've seen in years. I can't believe SLJ took this part! He must have really needed the money.

Fun, but not a good film.
by Andrew Driscoll (WI)
After seeing this movie, I was actually suprised. The movie did a good job setting up the characters and Samuel L. Jackson did a decent job as the lead role. The snakes were a little dissapointing and it was easy to tell they were CGI. Although predictible and somewhat lame, it was a fun movie that was a nice watch on a hot summer day.

I Don't Care What Anybody Says. . .
by Gayle L. Edmond (New York State)
this was a GREAT movie! I took my 18 year old nephew and we LOVED IT! Some of his friends sat near us and we all were screaming and laughing - yes laughing. If you take it for what it is, it's reminiscent of the "disaster movies" of the 1970's, with a silly plot, scenery chewing actors and loads of action. I thoroughly enjoyed it at the theatre and have since seen it two more times on TV. I made my boyfriend watch it and he even reluctantly admitted it wasn't that bad. Sam Jackson seems more annoyed by the snakes than anything and of course, saves the day. I would have loved to have been an extra in the movie. Especially the scene when everyone tries to go up the spiral staircase at the same time, and when the window opens! This is not a movie to be taken seriously people, it's just plain FUN. And when Sam Jackson delivered the famous line, the whole audience cheered, and clapped. Whenever I recommend it to people, they always say, "I don't like snakes". Well, neither do I and this isn't a movie about liking snakes, it's just a lot of fun.

3 stars out of 4
by One-Line Film Reviews (Easton, MD)
The Bottom Line:
A much-hyped film which turned out to be much ado about nothing, Snakes on a Plane delivers exactly what it promises (stupid "so bad it's good" filmmaking and Airport-style camp) and so is not really worth recommending or not recommending: it's bad, but it's up to you to decide if it's bad in a good way or bad in a bad way.
Snakes on a Plane [Blu-ray] Summary
A red-eye 747 flight out of Hawaii swooshes along at 30,000 feet toward L.A. Suddenly, there s no pilot. Later, there s no co-pilot. There are, however, snakes hissing, slithering, attacking, venomous snakes. A crime boss has subverted security and planted the reptiles in order to bring the plane down, along with a witness slated to testify against the mobster in L.A. Can the FBI agent (Samuel L.

Snakes on a Plane
knows exactly what kind of movie it is, knows exactly what moviegoers expect from a title like
Snakes on a Plane
, and delivers the exact pleasures of a movie in which poisonous snakes are unleashed on a plane to kill an eyewitness to murder. Samuel L. Jackson (
Pulp Fiction
,
The Long Kiss Goodnight
) knows exactly what he's doing in this movie and knows exactly when to pull out the superbad Samuel L. Jackson stare and deliver the infuriated Samuel L. Jackson bellow. The rest of the cast--including Julianna Margulies (
ER
), Rachel Blanchard (the TV series
Clueless
), Kenan Thompson (
Fat Albert
), David Koechner (
Anchorman
), Bobby Canavale (
The Station Agent
), and Sunny Mabrey (
One Last Thing...
)--play their parts with admirably straight faces and deadpan humor. Director David R. Ellis (
Final Destination 2
,
Cellular
) gives the movie the much-needed headlong momentum you would expect from a former stunt coordinator. In summation: A perfect piece of self-aware but not self-conscious high camp entertainment, blending comedy and thrills in perfect proportion.
