This is the worst live ablum of Judas Priest. Most of the songs are very slow and heavy. Till the last song "Painkiller", the pressure finally can be released.

I think they just wanted to do a live album that let people don't have "the songs remain the same" feeling. But, be honestly, the result of arrangement is not good. Just feel muddy and heavy pressure...

Of course, you can collect their live songs and buy this, like me. But you want to feel good, you need to think about it. Because you pay for "Painkiller" only.

This CD captures the magic of Judas Priest back with original singer Rob Halford. Judas Rising and Hellrider are stellar cuts from the Angel of Retribution album. Nostradomus is represented by Death and Prophecy, again two of the album's best tracks. Painkiller sees 3 tracks, including A Touch of Evil and the Song Painkiller from that 1990 album. Dissident Aggressor was covered by Slayer. Eat Me Alive is probably the most offensive song they;ve recorded. Get it at Wal Mart. Christian metal at its finest.

I have first seen Priest in the mid 80's when they were rocking Europe together with Saxon.

I suppose the commercial failure of Nostrodamous (despite the long touring) has forced the Priest-management to issue an (rather) effortless live CD with tracks that were so far not released on a live CD. Unfortunately but clearly you can hear the aging of a band. While the others have 'only' less hair, Rob's voice has lost a lot over the years and maybe not only the voice but also the brain. When you see him live he stares on his tele prompter to aid him through the (newer) songs. For classic Priest fans, only the old stuff might trigger a purchase of the CD. For regualar metal fans this CD might still be interesting as an aged Priest is still better than much of the noise bands nowadays. Looking forward to the Live DVD/CD where they will play all of British Steel.

Net, mainly due to the poor voice of Rob and the not convincing set-list I rate this product with 2 stars only.

Nice new live album from Judas Priest, Rob Halford's vox are in fine form here and the album is laid out brilliantly, giving us a nice variety of Priest material primarily from the '80's to now.

Cuts from their last two albums- NOSTRADAMUS and ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION - show their power and live potential, my fave being HELLRIDER. Love near the end where Halford "hums" along with the screaming, melodic twin guitar attack! Just a superb and inspiring metal moment.

The inclusion of DEFENDER OF THE FAITH's "Eat Me Alive" is also a nice treat, and great to hear it live. RIDING ON THE WIND is so dead-on you'd swear it almost came from late 70's / early 80's concerts...DEATH, from their latest studio album, comes across as a nice head-crushing, mid-tempo masterpiece...

The album ends with a BLISTERING, PUNISHING version of PAINKILLER which Rob totally owns, as always. Running over the seven minute mark, this one will take your breath away and give you a sore throat when trying to scream along with it too long!

Anyway, this album is totally worth adding to the collection, especially if you're a Priest/Halford fan. Chalk up another metal masterpiece from the boyz!
