Doubts all gone, now that I have watched it.
by Harry J. Harris (Lynchburg, VA)
Read the reviews of the BluRay on two other sites and they weren't very favorable. This is after I had already ordered it from Amazon. It isn't reference quality by any means. There are some soft scenes, and I noticed a few artifacts. But this BluRay is so much better than the non-anamorpic DVD, which was the only version I had. Am really glad it's finally out on BluRay, now if only I could get Raw Deal, Running Man, True Lies, Red Sonja and the Conan the Barbarian movies on BluRay.

On Point!
by Christopher (New Haven, CT)
I am not going into this film, but it is good to add to my Arnold flicks. Now I just want Raw Deal!
Blu-Ray quality, despite "pro" reviews, is on point! It is crisp, clean and detailed. It also has enough grain to show that it is film, but it is clean and right! I was taken back by the price (it was $12.99 when I bought it) and no reviews, but I just assumed it was priced low because this is one of Arnold's more obscure, forgotten about titles. THIS is the way Blu-Ray should look, no arguement about it. The cover makes it look as if they just threw it together and did not care about it, but it is near perfect.
The sound is fair. Digital yes, but not ground breaking and not bad either. The sound is a lot worse than picture and does not complement it as well. I guess it's just a part of the legacy of films from that era. The extras (I only watched the trailer and the TV spots) look as if they were pulled from VHS. I guess this where they just threw things together.
If you like this film or want your Arnold collection on BD, get this without hesitation! Don't be scurred!

Our Governator in Blu - awesome price
by Steve Kuehl (Ben Lomond, CA)
Cannot beat this deal for a fun 1980s film in BD that actually came across as good as can be without Lionsgate dumping too much money into it.
The clarity gave a decent showing - even with the amount of skin tones being shown by our fearless leader in that beginning Russian spa scene. The color was vivid, maybe too much so once they hit the snow with the flesh tones and fake injuries contrasting against the white. But the credit (pink colors) looked clear with no grain at all, and admittedly that DNR thingy (or whatever they call the removal process for some of these upgrades) did not blur/fuzz things at all. The Chicago street scenes looked good and the background signs are actually readable now. The DTS is mostly channeled to the front three, but they managed to add some decent bass here and there.
The supplements are from the 2004 edition in low def, but it is always nice to see that stunt man memorial featurette, recommend that if you pick only one to watch. The included TV spots and such are always nice for a before and after comparison on quality. For what they put into this, and the price being offered I feel you won't be disappointed.
