I thought it was worth the wait
As this is the only "james Bond" movie i have seen, have to say that I really enjoyed it. Sorry that i have none to compare it to. i love the visual effects, and all the action. I have reccomended it many time to all of my friends that ...

Falls way short of Casino Royale
A satisfactory Bond flick, though an emotionally detached and jittery one with virtually nothing more than passably memorable. The action is often, but standard, the villains odious but easily disposed of and the only things that really w...

Not as good as Casino Royale
I loved Casino Royale and thought Daniel Craig performed really well. But in this something just doesnt feel right I am not quite sure what it is, but there is just something. I just dont think it is as good as Casino Royale - But it is st...

Craig's 2nd Bond grittier, angrier than his first.
Ok follow-up sequel to Casino Royale that cant compete with how great that movie was. My problem with this movieis that it dosen't feel like a Bond movie. It looks like a copy of The Bourne Ultimataum crossed with Rambo. James Bond is not ...

Shaken, but not stirred? Try this!
Daniel Craigs second outing in QOS, as James Bond, is every bit as physical and action driven as the first installment, Casino Royale. Director Marc Forster (Monsters Ball, The Kite Runner) takes the reins this time and gives us an e...

Worst Bond movie ever
by RAP (Bedford)
No reason to belabor these comments - if you enjoyed the Connery/Bond movies, you will find this to be a deeply and excruciatingly painful degradation of the Ian Fleming novels. I will not watch or purchase another Bond movie with Craig in the lead role - for my money, he is almost the perfect "anti-Bond" - no culture, no sophistication, a deadly dull "tough guy" and totally politically correct - what a bore!!!

Action seemed forced.
by BOND "DOUBLEAGENT"
Action was jerky and did not flow well. It really seemed pieced together much like a movie is actually shot. Script did not flow well either. Scenes to short, and to many changes. Hard to follow storyline and hard to keep track of the characters. Casino Royale was much better. A slower pace but with action that would pull you in and end with a spectacular finish.

Good direction for the Bond series
by Ben Larkins (Rustburg, VA)
I'll be honest, I came away with some mixed feelings about this one, but in the end it deserves the 4 stars it gets for a few reasons. It took me a while to get used to the different style of this movie, but once I did I believe it became all the more enjoyable. The writer/director/(insert important movie title) people took some liberties with the movie and the Bond franchise that in the end I believe paid off. Even from the start of the credits, I could tell this movie was going to be a bit different, and considering the sequel-esque nature of this film, it most certainly stood out, in a good way.
The action was varied, but each setting that Bond found himself in was quite believable. It didn't feel that him being on a plane or boat was forced down our throat just to fulfill a mandate for more fast-paced scenes, as some critics will lead you to believe.
What separates this movie from a good portion of so many other Bond films of the past is that the mental state of Bond, with all of it's humanity and baggage, comes to light. We see an older and more conflicted Bond. Casino Royale made us believe that Daniel Craig can carry the responsibility of James Bond quite well. Quantum of Solace helps us see the ups and downs of the burden of that responsibility.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie, and enjoyed the pacing, acting, and variety that it brought. I believe that as a sequel, it did justice, and was enjoyable through and through. I wouldn't call it the best Bond movie ever, but what sequel could ever live up to such great expectations?

Maybe because the first Craig .007 began with wonderful chase scene
by S. B. Dupre (Shadowland)
the writers/driector or this one thought, "Well, let's just do one chase scene after another and forget about substance." Lessee, we start out with cars chasing car, then man chasing man, then on to motorcycle chasing car (assault on the motorcyclist and steal the bike) for more motorcycle chasing car. On to boat chasing big boat then little boats chasing little boat....do you see a theme here? I swear to you it seemed like the entire movie was merely a collection of various chase scenes with a little bit of story squashed in for filler.
I like Daniel Craig as the new Bond. The addition here of Olga Kurylenko was pleasant as both she and Craig know their jobs and probably did the best they could with what was offered. Judi Dench has been the best thing that has happened to the Bond series in years and hopefully she will stick around to the bitter end. Ah, speaking of which, we're back to the movie. I've spoken of the lack of substance as the negative in this review. For the postive aspects, we do indeed have Ms. Dench, we have a great new Bond, and we have a more serious tone rather than the tongue-in-cheek of Roger Moore or the boring Timothy Dalton. I really did like Brosnan and thought he suited that type of Bond film. Craig is perfect for the rough hewn, far from perfect agent. There does appear to be tendancy to kill everyone with no regard for any kind of law (yes, I'm fully aware of the meaning of "licensed to kill", but still!)
Honestly, I'm really hoping the next Bond will rely more on storyline and less on mindless action. Ms. Dench and Mr. Craig have a lot to offer and will a little help from the writers/director I'm sure we'll see a much better Bond film next time.

Daniel Craig continues the Bond tradition
by Jim Gateley (Sunnyvale, CA)
5 of 5 stars for the James Bond 007 action movie: Quantum of Solace. As with every other James Bond movie, you can expect rich big settings with grand sweeping action, exotic international locations and insanely big action. QoS is on par with other Bond movies but is not in my top 10 list.
QoS follows the events following Casino Royale (the remake of a few years ago, not the comedy version of the 70's). Daniel Craig plays Bond in both CR and QoS. He is a good, though not great, version of Bond. I do like Judi Dench as "M". She is strong, solid and believeable in the role. The key point to this movie is a new secret organization which MI6 learns of the hard-way. The organization is named Quantum of Solace. QoS turns out to be primarily a "business" organization trying thru illegal means to extract extreme profits from a country. The story has Bond jumping around the world to chase after the bad guys. The downside to this movie is that QoS doesn't really form as a group and the "big bad guys" are not as grand as in other Bond movies.
The Blu-Ray of this is stunning with extreme sound quality. Further it is packed with extra contents. I was wondering how they blew-up that hotel. Even with the limitations I mentioned, this is a 5 star movie and well worth the time to watch it.
Quantum of Solace [Blu-ray] Summary
Daniel Craig returns as James Bond in this thrilling, action-packed adventure that picks up where Casino Royale left off. Betrayed by the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. On a nonstop quest for justice that crisscrosses the globe, Bond meets the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), who leads him to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless busin

Daniel Craig hasn't lost a step since
Casino Royale
--this James Bond remains dangerous, a man who could earn that license to kill in brutal hand-to-hand combat… but still look sharp in a tailored suit. And
Quantum of Solance
itself carries on from the previous film like no other 007 movie, with Bond nursing his anger from the
Casino Royale
storyline and vowing blood revenge on those responsible. For the new plot, we have villain Mathieu Amalric (
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
), intent on controlling the water rights in impoverished Third World nations and happy to overthrow a dictator or two to get his way. Olga Kurylenko is very much in the "Bond girl" tradition, but in the Ursula Andress way, not the Denise Richards way. And Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, and Giancarlo Giannini are welcome holdovers. If director Marc Forster and the longtime Bond production team seem a little too eager to embrace the continuity-shredding style of the
Bourne
pictures (especially in a nearly incomprehensible opening car chase), they nevertheless quiet down and get into a dark, concentrated groove soon enough. And the theme song, "Another Way to Die," penned by Jack White and performed by him and Alicia Keys, is actually good (at times Keys seems to be channeling Shirley Bassey--nice). Of course it all comes down to Craig. And he kills.
