Its bearable, but taken in small doses
by Mr Mister (Seattle, Wa)
I've watched this awhile back because i dont have the patience to sit down and actually read a comic book (thats when you know you have a bad case of ADD).
Anyway.. For the most part i found this to be bearable. It captures the exact mood i expect in Watchmen. the one thing that REALLY gets to me is the fact that the females should have a female actor...
Other than that.. Its fine. The one comic where Dr Manhatten is talking on Mar is awfully annoying.

MUCH BETTER then the Movie
by J. caban (chicago)
This is deep physiological drama; its has a who-done-it appeal. And the characters are all to real; very gritty, with stories of their own. The over all mood is a melancholy one, which is enforced with the animation and the vocal reading. Many people got diffirent things from it, but what I got was a dose of real life people. I work in law enforcement and I connected alot of the character's behavior and beliefs, in some of the people I have work with. The movie doesn't do it justice, not one bit.

As Interesting as it is Necessary
by Tyler S. (Brentwood, CA United States)
If you've read the book and seen the movie, I don't reccomend this motion comic. If your like the gentleman writing a review next to me, you may want to rent or borrow this to catch up before you watch the feature film. Now why would I say that?
-The film narrarator is the least expressive old man. The live action film had my toes curling, but this man had no ability to create suspense. He also does female voices, which is kind of embarrassing. You couldn't hire a woman for those? You just embarass us, and leave us watching it alone so no one laughs.
-Same pricing as blu-ray film? I think not. They collected a lot of money from these, and its because we're paying full blu-ray price for a Motion Comic. Not a film.
-My third reason is the long haul of the disc, that sometimes just really steers you away from itself and leaves you a little bored. I loved the comic and film, but this blu-ray gets a little boring at times.
Don't get me wrong. There is excellent artwork to be found, and this is the full story the way Alan Moore meant it. When I got past the voice-acting, among other things, I began to really enjoy it. I still bought it because I'm a collector, but I feel bad about it's price tag. It's neat to watch at times, but it's not a spectacle really. All in all someone wanted to make money, and they just didn't take the time to fully execute this idea. Leaving us to feel almost tricked.

Put off by single narrator
by james king (carmel valley, ca United States)
This was my first introduction to an animated-type comic. I was blown away...at first.I wish more care had been used in narration. It was obvious and distracting to hear Rorshach and Nite Owl having the same voice; but when a male voice was used by Silk Spectre, it was ludicrous. Would have been perfect with more than one voice. This was NOT supposed to be an audio-book.

highly entertaining
by robert croce
What a great way of "watching" a comic book! I love the presentation, and I love that the dialog balloons are left in. I have no problem that the female characters are voiced by the same actor, although if I was making this I would have had a female voice these characters (and I am surprised that this didn't come up in production) I was not distracted. It reminded me of listening to an audiobook. If you are a comic book fan, you will really dig this. I would love to see this treatment done to "The Dark Knight". I hope this is just the beginning! Bring on more "Motion Comics"!
