Williams and these 10 tunes were made for each other, as his mellow baritone fits perfectly with the Hawaiian guitars and violins. This is especially true when he prolongs his notes for romantic effect in songs like "The Hawaiian Wedding Song." Many of these songs are obscure today, but "Bali Ha'i" and "Some Enchanted Evening" are masterworks that defy categorization. Williams' easy way with this material is an indication of his value in American pop music.
