Incredible! Beats For The Love Of The Game Anyday!
by L. Davis (Alabama)
Awesome CD! As the title says, it beats For The Love Of The Game hands down. This album is more original yet still sticks within the limits of not being crazy. Given, I am a huge fan of bands like Before Their Eyes, Haste the Day, Stutterfly, Far-less and other harder/screamo type bands, but this CD is actually a good CD! Not that those other bands aren't good, but this CD has great balance and my parents will even want to listen to it! (this is not Lorna, it's her son) This CD has a couple of great guitar solos, enough to show off Noah's talents, but not too many so that you scream "Get on in the song already!"
I have been a fan of pillar since my brother brought home a CD. He didn't like them, but I LOVED them. So I found the old version of Fireproof, (much better in my opinion, then the re-release) and bought it off this site. I now have every Pillar CD! These guys are incredible and have done it yet again. They hit you hard with their music without making you want to jump out of your window and the lyrics are also inspirational and incredible.

Good
by CrazyRocker737
The new Pillar album is great! The lyrics are inspirational and make you think, while the music totally rocks! Great for fans of TFK, Skillet, and Red! I'm looking forward to another great album by them in the future!

nice cd
by H. Hodges (the middle of nowhere, ca usa)
Ive been a fan of pillar since the beginning when they had the rap mixed in and then through the hard rock days. I like how on confessions they mixed it up a little and let Rob sing hes got a nice sound. I also like the cover of shine by collective soul ive always liked that song. I just wish the cd was longer than 10 tracks though. But overall i really like thing cd i think its another good cd from pillar.

Heavenly ~ Heartwarming ~ Honest
by Jade Topp (Pennsylvania, USA)
I was given this Cd by my son for Christmas. I have taken this long to review it because I haven't put it down. I must "confess" The CD is safe and in my Cd storage unit but my iPod is another story. The entire album is on there an I listen to it when I am happy, sad, or any other emotion that just needs a spiritual lift.
I would recommend this album or any Pillar Album to anyone of any age who loves good music. You don't have to be Christian to enjoy them, you will be when you are done ... ;o)
I wouldn't trade the gift they give with there music for anything. They reinforce my beliefs daily and I would like to thank them for that.

Different, but Good
by Erin Jade
I'm going to be honest in this review; Pillar has been my favorite band for the past five years, nearly six, and I haven't been disappointed by a release once. Each of their albums have a somewhat different style, but the overall sound is still "Pillar." I think the reason why people are so divided on this album is because there are so many more changes than on any of the previous releases. It's not bad, just different.
When I first listened to "Confessions," I admit, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but that didn't stop me from taking another listen, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. With two new members and producer Rob Graves, of course it's going to be more different than usual. However, I've seen both Rich Gilliland (bass) and Taylor Carroll (drums) live in concert since they've joined the band, and they both have great talent. It should also be noted that Taylor did not record on this album. It's possible that he joined the band too late in the recording process because a studio drummer was the one who performed in "Confessions." With Rob Graves as producer, the album also becomes comparable to another band he produces for, RED, for the use of classical instruments, among other things. Again, I don't think it's bad, but it's definitely something new for Pillar.
Despite all the changes made during the entire process leading up to the release of this album, I really do love it. It isn't as hard as some of their previous albums, but the slower songs are done with passion, the lyrics and messages in all the songs are fantastic, and there are still some of those great rock songs we all love. Kudos to Rob Beckley for still doing such good screams! With him and Noah Henson writing most of the album, it still has that overall "Pillar" feel to it. The more I listen to it, the more I can hear that.
Although it doesn't quite meet all the points of what makes a #1 favorite in my book (hence the four star rating), it's still up there on the list of albums I love to listen to, and I think it's worth checking out for any Pillar fan, or even just a music fan. Once you accept that it's different, then you'll be able to enjoy it for the excellent album that it is.
