4/5 Nice Radiohead DVD

Shortly after I got a dvd player I wanted to get this dvd as I hadn't seen many of their videos and I love the band. This dvd is a good collection and some of these videos are very well done. I recomend everyone who's a Radiohead fan who doesen't have this dvd and likes music videos to pick this dvd up. Here are the videos.

Paranoid Android - A cool animated video which follows the day of some slacker guy who gets up takes a shower and has his friend call him and the have a weird day together. Along with some other weird situations most memorable scene is where a big fat bals man wearing a thong tries chopping down a light pole to get the slacker guy off the top of it and ends up dismembering himself. Also one of my favorite scenes in the video is there is a animated shot of the band sittting at a table in a bar where some weird guy is trying to entertain them.

Street Spirit - Another one of my favorite videos and songs too. This one is entirely in black and white and has weird start/stop effects and slow motion effects. Some may find this video to be boring but I find it extreemly artistic.

No Surprises - This one is my least favorite video. It's just Thom singing in a tank while water fills up nearly drowning him. You also see lyrics projected on the tank.

Just - Very awesome video of a man who just wants to lie on concrete until the end of the world and ends up having a bunch of people around him trying to figure out whats wrong. When he tells them they all like on the concrete. Also shows Radohead playing upstairs in what apears to be an apartment building.

High And Dry (US) - This video is like a mini movie where the opening scene The band parks there car at a diner and goes in to sit down and order food. It also shows other charachters and the situations they have put themselves into. This video has a very climatic ending.

Karma Police - Interesting video which shows the inside of a car driving down a small road at night with Thom Yorke in the back seat and eventualy we see a man being chased by the car. Eventualy the man gets exhausted and falls to the ground. He gets back up and notices the car leaking gasoline. Fortunutly the man has some matches and lights the trail of gas on fire. The car backs up but is set of fire anyway and the viewer gettting frantic looks for Thom but he has vanished.

Fake Plastic Trees - This one is probably my favorite video. It just shows the band being wheeled around in shopping carts with a store selling only weird colored jars. This video is simple but there's something abougt it I love. It also shows other shoppers in the store as well as employers. One employer goes crazy and starts agressively pricing the jars.

All in all cool dvd but I had to take a star off because there is no videos on here from Pablo Honey. Why they didn't include the three and the Inside My Head video I'll never know but what is here is great. This is also pretty short. It's only about a half hour long. There is the new dvd out there called the best of which has most of their videos including these and all the pablo Honey videos. You might want that instead only that dvd wasn't put out by the band. It was an EMI cash grab because the band left EMI after Hail To The Thief. This one is an official product put out by the band. I say if your a completest get both. If you see this dvd used you'll probably find it at a good price.

Love Radiohead (especially their paranoid android) but the DVD is just doesn't cut it. It's just got a stereo track only no digitals

That is delivered via int'l mail. there was some anxiety of missing this. nothing happens what i worried about but it takes so long time.
as many people knows this dvd contains radiohead's promotion music video of early songs so fantastic. never regretful, if you have a thoughts to buy this stuff.

I LOVE Radiohead. Their music speaks to me. Their music videos, im not too sure. What I love about Radiohead is that their ideas are unique and innovative. It's all there in these music videos, but they aren't executed to well. They're eccentric, which is a good thing, but not exactly brilliant or affective. The music videos I liked were No Surprises (simple, plain, but affective with Thom York's face mouthing the lyrics to the song), and Fake Plastic Trees (strange, lots of bright colors, interesting looking people, it has a somewhat vulnerable feel that's very affective). The rest to me were either just OKAY, such as High and Dry and Just, while others just didn't do anything for me, such as Paranoid Android, Street Spirit, and Karma Police. The good thing is that i liked all the songs though, but just not all of the music videos. This is for major Radiohead fans. If you can rent it like I did, i'd recommend doing that.

This is a dvd I watch about once a month. The only downfall is that it only has 7 songs.
