audio lacking
by T. Dodson (Oklahoma)
Love the show but the audio is lacking. It sounds like once the sounds gets above a certain level it gets "clipped" resulting in distorted audio especially noticeable if viewing this on a decent system. Please note I'm a big fan of Rufus and was disappointed to hear the degraded audio on this DVD. I paid $30.00 for the CD/DVD combo from my local store so I feel like I have been let down somewhat.

I was a small star in this DVD! No seriously...I was a cut out sparkle star
by Angela Gustafson (Minneapolis, MN)
I have been waiting so long for this DVD to come out!
My best friend Nick and I traveled from Minneapolis to see him at the Pabst theater because we didn't know if we'd ever see him in the midwest region again.
When we got to the show we didn't know that he was using this concert for a DVD. It was great to know we'd be a part of one of his DVDs!!
Actually, we were stars of a song! :)
In his song "Release the Stars" he had people pass out sparkle stars to the audience and wave them around back and forth as lights bounced around on stage and reflected off of our stars. It was beautiful! We were so excited. We watched the camera pan around to the audience members with stars...we hope we made the cut! :D
His music, stage, and outfits are amazing. It was beautiful. Everything was bright and colorful along with his attitude. He is a great entertainer and he definitely knows how to work the audience as well as include them in his performance.
I can't wait to get my hands on this DVD. The concert was amazing and I can only guess that this DVD will do nothing but entertain and impress viewers!
Milwaukee at Last!!! Summary
Recorded at Milwaukee's Pabst Theater in August 2007 this 23 track DVD will be released simultaneously with a CD that has highlights from the concert and a Deluxe Edition that has both the CD and DVD with five bonus tracks of performance and backstage rehearsal. The DVD was shot by the legendary documentary film maker Albert Maysles who with his brother David formed a team whose "Direct cinema" works include "Salesmen", Gimme Shelter and Grey Gardens. Their 1964 film on The Beatles forms the backbone of the DVD, The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit. Having wowed and dazzled audiences on his acclaimed and celebrated 2007 `Release The Stars' tour, Rufus Wainwright releases his eagerly anticipated new live CD/DVD `Milwaukee at Last!!!'. Rufus Wainwright's `Release The Stars' world tour lasted nearly eight months. Launching in London's Old Vic for a week of triumphant sold out shows in May 2007, the tour was taken around the world before being officially brought to a close in 2008 at Radio City Music Hall, New York City on Valentines Day. `Release The Stars' is the focal point of the new live CD/DVD with other highlights coming from Rufus' `Want One' record, a scintillating performance of Noel Coward's `If Love Were All' from his `Rufus Does Judy' show, plus a spine tingling acapella version of celtic song `Macushla'. Rufus Wainwright was fully complemented on his `Release The Stars' tour by his epic 7-piece band. Jeff Hill (Bass), Jack Petruzzelli (Guitarist), C.J. Camerieri (Trumpet), Will Vinson (Saxophonist), Gerry Leonard (Guitarist), Louis Schwadron (French Horn) and Matt Johnson (Drums).
