    Lucio Silla [WS] DVD Summary Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart first staged his lesser-known opera Lucio Silla in 1772, with a libretto by Giovanni de Gamerra.

    The work dramatizes the plight of the titular Roman dictator, who feels an insatiable erotic desire for Junia, the daughter of his arch-nemesis Marius.

    He runs head-first into romantic conflict given Junia's competing love for Caecilius, a Roman senator in exile.
