As the quartet of adventurers visits two new worlds, another character from Cardcaptor Sakura makes a surprise appearance: Kero-chan, the dessert-loving creature from the cover of the book of Clow Cards. But his familiar falsetto has been replaced with a lower, goofier voice, and this version lacks is predecessor's charm. In the highly civilized Land of Récolte, one of Princess Sakura's enchanted feathers has been sealed in the Book of Memories: anyone who opens the volume discovers the previous reader's memories. When he picks up the Book, Syaoran inadvertently learns about Kurogane's unhappy childhood. His parents were killed by mysterious warriors who wore a bat-wing crest: these warriors are apparently linked to Fei Wang, who continues to watch the movements of the quartet. A visit into Sakura's memories of the archeological dig where she met Syaoran juxtaposes the past as it was with the past as she now remembers it--without him.
