Siberia Summary Best Friends Hugo And Goof Set Up A Scam Picking Up Female Backpackers Newly Arrived In Amsterdam. They Sleep With Them, Rob Them, And Then Tear A Page Out Of Their Passports To Keep As A Souvenir, Since The Boys’ Goal Is To Take A Trip Around The World From Within Amsterdam. Their Set-up Is Quickly Threatened When Seasoned Traveler Lara Enters The Fray. Appropriately Named, Goof Immediately Falls In Love With Her And Becomes Obsessed With The Idea Of Taking Her To Siberia To See The Country Of Her Childhood. Now That The Rules Of The Game Have Changed Between Hugo And Goof, Life Becomes Very Complicated For Everyone Involved In This Fast-paced Caper Of Who’s Hustling Who?

Set in scenic Amsterdam, the darkly comic Siberia follows grifters Hugo and Goof as they earn their keep by fleecing foxy female backpackers. Cocky Hugo (Hugo Metsers Jr. from Band of Brothers) is the ringleader while Goof (Roeland Fernhout) is his trusty companion. Their M.O. is to seduce visiting lovelies who don't speak the language, steal their money, and rip the picture page out of their passport as a memento. It's a cruel, clever, and rather misogynistic way to make a living. Then they meet Russian tourist Lara (Vlatka Simac), whose goal is to return to Siberia (and whose American traveling companion happens to be played by Baywatch's Nicole Eggert). Just as Hugo warns him not to, Goof falls for the enigmatic beauty and all hell breaks loose. Lara, as it turns out, is on to her would-be seducers--and can be just as cruel and clever. Robert Jan Westdijk's sophomore effort is an entertainingly mean spirited (and occasionally sexually explicit) romp set, like Run Lola Run, to an energetic techno beat. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
