It's Not 1977, It's Actually 1991. So What!!!
by "The Woj" (Downers Grove, IL)
Regardless of the mistaken date above, this is a great dvd from Iggy's "Brick By Brick" tour back in 1991. It is the same video as the "Kiss My Blood" dvd which is nearly impossible to find. I own both releases; and the sound and video on "Iggy In Paris" are just a little weaker than "Kiss My Blood". However, the difference is minimal & it does not justify spending big dollars on "Kiss My Blood" (and that's if you can even find it). Included below is my review of the "Kiss My Blood" dvd. If you are an Iggy Pop fan, jump at this dvd while you can. You can even save a few bucks on zShops, definitely the way to go. I guarantee Mr. Pop will not disappoint.
Until the arrival of "Avenue B", "Kiss My Blood" was arguably the best Iggy Pop related video document in my collection. Recorded during the "Brick By Brick" tour, this show features one of Iggy's best bands in recent memory. Primarily because of the killer lead guitar of Whitey Kurst. Whitey rips through ever lead from Ron Asheton's to Williamson's effortlessly. This is a great ProShot show with 10 out of 10 soundboard quality audio. If you are an Iggy Pop fan you owe yourself this dvd and I gurantee you will not be disappointed. But....until you can find it, definitely drop some cash on the new "Live At The Avenue B". You can pick it up for around 10 bucks on zShops. "Avenue B" has a slight edge "video" wise over "Kiss My Blood" (due to technology); but from a performance standpoint, the two are dead even. Long live Mr. Pop.

Rock and roll served blistering hot with an adrenaline chaser
by Loren West (Philadelphia, PA USA)
Note: - This review is actually for the original French DVD "Kiss My Blood", which is from the same concert. There may, however be some differences between the two DVDs
On this DVD Iggy Pop proves he is, without a doubt, the greatest frontman in rock and roll. He is exactly as I remember him when I saw him in New York at the Academy; wild, rude, lude, untamed, electric, maniacal, frantic, focused, ferocious, and completely over the top. Say what you want about Whitey Kirst, The Trolls are a great backup band and Iggy himself has never been better than he is right here. This DVD has it all (including blood letting and full frontal nudity!). I will 4ever treasure these killer versions of classic Iggy tunes like; Search and Destroy, Lust For Life, I Wanna Be Your Dog, Loose, Dirt, 1969, The Passenger and others. The newer material off Brick by Brick kicks ass too. If you love rock and roll served blistering hot with an adrenaline chaser it doesn't get better than this! I would give it 20 stars if I could!

Add to your dusty collection
by B. Findlay (brooklyn)
Iggy and the band deliver a drop dead five star performance.
This is a must OWN for Iggy collectors and thats where I draw the line on this dvd. First off I think this is a bootleg of Iggy's "Kiss my Blood". The tip off was
the opening credits and the video say "Kiss my Blood" . Christ! Is that even Iggy
on the cover sleeve??? The camera work drove me crazy. Theres about 5 different cameras going with way too many CHEEZY MTV panned shots.
50% of the time all you see is lame ass Whitey Kirst and his wanna-be rock star guitar playing. The sound quality is moderate at best.
The one good thing I'd say is this dvd cost me $14.00 vs. dishing out over $80.00!! for the "Kiss my Blood" dvd.
Over all I'd say get this for the documented footage factor. If you want a dvd with great quality and outstanding Iggy-fied energy check out the dvd
"Iggy and the Stooges-Live in Detroit 2003" Thats a must OWN/SEE.

Iggy "Pops" In Paris!!!
by J. Holland (Albany, NY USA)
Iggy is a master showman and this DVD captures him at the peak of his powers. Iggy bleeds, jumps, and twists about the stage like a marionette (sp?) on acid. The music is raw, and in-your-face, just what one would expect from the Godfather of Punk. A true classic. Crank it up, enjoy!!
