1/5 Not Worth The Money!

Just purchased this DVD, and for the price, you could buy two other DVDs that are much better! I gave it one star because there are some pretty scenes, but I was watching the clock to see when the 80 min. was up, and that should tell you a lot! I own five Ireland DVDs, this is not the worst of the lot, but it is number four. First of all, the music is very distracting and seems out of sync with the video most of the time, it becomes loud and dramatic at times, very distracting from the scenery. There were far too many scenes of crashing ocean waves. The narration is overly dramatic and very historical in nature. If you like a lot of drama and tons of rambling historical info, you might like this. I thought the narration was distracting to the scenes. And it ends by showing the worst of Ireland, like junk yards and industrial pollution, and the impact of progress...I'm sure that's realistic, but hey, I can see that in the good ole USA, just down the street...it wasn't what I thought I paid $24.95 to see. When I watch this again (someday far in the future) I will watch it on mute...there are a few captions to tell you the locale that is being filmed. My idea of a great Irish video is Video Visits: Discovering Ireland produced by Questar...a fantastic two hour DVD that cost about $13.99. Head and shoulders over this one! And the Magnificent Scenery of Ireland is second choice, both cheaper than this one. And both of them better productions.
