    This disc had the possibility of being a classic. Unfortunately, it is seriously flawed both technically and musically. The audio is best described as "terrible". There are musical errors too numerous to mention. Unfortunately, I have returned this disc, at some cost to me. But, I am certain I would have never played it again.
    Tchaikovsky - 150th Anniversary Concert From China / Roger Woodward, Beijing Philharmonic Summary 1993 marks the centenary of the death of Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky. Few composers are more popular with audiences than he and the reasons are many and understandable. His music is extremely tuneful, luxuriously and colorfully scored and filled with an emotional fervor that goes straight to the heart.At this concert, in celebration of Tchaikovksy's birth in 1840, Roger Woodward, the renowned Australian concert pianist plays Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No 1. The second half of this concert, recorded in Beijing, features the Beijing Philharmonic Orchestra playing the 6th Symphony.
