Great Show. Sound quality could be better.
by J. S. Ruhl (Northern Virginia, USA)
This item is a must for even the slightest fans of Greg Dulli or the Twilight Singers. I was actually only a casual fan of the Twilight Singers after listening to all their albums but after a friend showed me this DVD I became a super fan. I then went to see them live and consider the show one of the best I've ever seen. The song choice and showmanship is impeccable on this DVD and my only complaint is that (true to it's name) it has the slight feel of a bootleg as the sound quality is nowhere near as good as on most live DVD's. It's not bad enough that you shouldn't buy it but don't expect to feel like the band is playing live in your living room.

Bad sound, bad picture, GREAT PERFORMANCE...
by Kowalsky The Sailorman (BH/MG, Brasil)
Yes, this is BOOTLEG quality. Really bad sound and not so good picture. So, if you're hooked on well produced, high technology stuff, get away from it. Buy their CDs and that's it.
But if you're looking for a PURE ROCK N' ROLL session, with great (gut) performances, and crazy/cool singer Greg Dulli leading the show, then you'll love it. That's my thing and that's why I loved it.
Despite its flaws, this is one of my favorite DVDs. Of course I was already a Twilight Singer fanatic. So, be aware.

Not Sold on this one
by Mike D (Buffalo, NY)
If you are new to the Twilight Singers, this should be the last item you purchase.
I read in another review how great it is that this is a concert caught by fan cameras with no deceitful overdubs or re-arraingement. Well, pardon me for actually enjoying decent production value.
The sound quality is poor, think worst seat in the house in the back of the bar. The camera work is hand-held, I personally start to feel woozy from all of the shaking.
Their performance wasn't the best either. If you go to YouTube, you can see some of their performances from Tel Aviv and other venues that are amazing, or even check their performance from Jimmy Kimmel Live. Those shows will give you a better understanding of who this band really is.
Its unfortunate to say, but it looks like this video was shot at the height of Greg Dulli's famous life of excess. He misses words, misses notes, forgets lyrics, and generally looks pretty bad. I can't help but think that this is what Elvis must have looked like right before the toilet got him.
If you think he wasn't completely wasted during this show, besides the point that he smokes marijuana constantly, know that the band he used for this gig was replaced soon after by a far less toxic band and the music and performances turned completely around. In the later albulms, he surrounds himself with musicians like Joseph Arthur, Ani DiFranco and others, and the results are spectacular in both the shows and the albums. Its said that he is now clean and sober and at his productive peak, and listening to "Powder Burns" and "A Stitch in Time" shows that.
Again, if you are new to the band, not a good first choice. Greg Dulli has written and performed some GREAT songs with this band. This concert shows neither the richness or depth of that work, and instead turns into a sad retrospect of a man who likes drugs a little too much. I hope that Mr. Dulli sees the poor quality of this DVD and decides to release something to the fans that shows the true ability and talents of this great band.

Twilight Singers fans should pick this one up
by dullifan79 (Richmond, CA)
First, you have to love the "cover art" review. Great summary of the music, dude. I expect this guy has no idea who the Twilight Singers are, much less Greg Dulli or his tradition of performing covers. Likewise, I'm sure this went straight over "Tomer Cooper's" head.
Second, this is a great DVD. Any TS/Dulli singer shouldn't hesitate to buy it. Present are the characteristic Dulli charisma and rockin' good tunes you'd expect, but captured live each song takes on new life. It's just a damned good show put on by damned fine musicians. I love watching these guys work.
The audio quality isn't great but it suffices. It's live. If you've heard live performances before, you know the deal. Not great, but not bad. And two minutes in you'll forget it altogether.
Buy it, you won't regret it.

Is The DVD Cover Familiar To You?
by Tomer Cooper (Givat-Shmuel,Israel)
This is a pure Rip-Off from the cover of Aerosmith's Live Bootleg album from 1978...Where's the shame? Too bad Twilight are not original enough to come up with their own cover.
In another words, this DVD is pretty suck and the originality here is nowhere to be found...Especially on the cover art that they stole from a much bigger band.
