Worst movie I've ever seen (even for a SciFi channel flick)
by EuroTraveler (Minnesota)
The skeleton man appears for no clear reason. Soldiers fire thousands and thousands of rounds at him with no effect (why do people keep firing in these stupid SciFi channel flicks when their bullets are obviously having no effect?).
Skeleton man brings down a helicopter (don't ask how, it's incredibly stupid.)
There is never a reason given for the appearance of Skeleton Man or a reason for anything he does. Never a reason given for the incredible stupidity of the soldiers trying to kill him. Never a reason given for the incredible stupidity of the people that made this terrible, terrible movie.
Don't buy it; don't watch it. Pounding nails into your hand for 2 hours would be less painful and more productive than watching this incredibly awful movie.

So stupid
by The Whatever Dude (houston, tx United States)
I got this in The Horror Six-Pack from Echo Bridge Home Entertainment. This one is not the worst movie ever made, but it still sucks. In fact, this movie sucked so hard, I don't know how I'm gonna write this review, especially since 1. I popped it out of the DVD player because I couldn't even watch another second and 2. Hurricane friggin' Ike is coming and God knows how long 'til it take for me to get this review done.
The movie starts off with a scientist and his wife. The scientist recieves a valuble artifact and examines it when this supposedly Urban Legend known as the Skeleton Man kills him, and later on his wife. Then...
I'm sorry, but there's really not much else I can say about this POS except don't bother. I'm currently using the disc as a coaster, and if you see this, you might want to do the same. Casper Van Dien and Michael Rooker must have needed cash...BADLY!
PS. I'll pretty much be reviewing the movies in the boxset and might do a new review on Ghoulies IV.

Very simple movie, even by slasher standards
by Bakuryuu Tyranno (England)
There's a couple of things lacking in substance. Yes, even by the standards of slasher films.
Firstly, the central characters are investigating the disappearence of other characters. When one of them vanishes, the others are focused on their disappearence. Understandable, but these people rarely talk about anything else. There's some talk on their army training and that's about it. They have very little personnality.
Secondly, the Skeleton Man himself uses weapons such as a sword, lance, bow, etc. Generally speaking, don't slasher movie fans want to see inventive deaths?
Also, at some time the Skeleton Man has some kind of connection or relevence to birds of prey but it's not really explained. It's also reasonably long for a slasher movie, but there's a lot more deaths than I've seen in any other slasher movie, so I guess the movie being longer doesn't change much.
Aside from being sub-par in the most important elements of a slasher movie, this movie isn't all that bad . I enjoyed it (and not in a "so bad its good" way, because I never have that mentality while watching movies), but it's not something I'd recommend to slasher movie fans in general.

Personally, I Very Much Enjoyed This Film
by Jill Dunsmore
I actually sort of enjoyed "Skeleton Man", despite it's crappiness. The acting was okay, and I was surprised that Michael Rooker, who played Grant Grant in the awesomely great movie "Slither" starred as Captain Leary in this one. It was kind of weird that he would take a job on such a bad film like this.
But honestly, I really enjoyed "Skeleton Man." Yes, it was crappy. Yes, the acting was bad, but, yes, the deaths were cool and the premise of the movie was cool. The skeleton man was very weird and mysterious, and I love mysterious killers!
The action scenes were kind of cheesy, and there were WAY too many slow motion scenes, where people flew threw the air. There were also unnecessary color switches with the pictures, and it was kind of confusing and VERY unnecessary. The acting in "Skeleton Man" could have been better, but it was bearable.
I was deceived by the bad reviews, because, althought it was bad, it wasn't AS bad as people say it is. It's definitely worth a try. It might disappoint, but it's worth a try.

So awful . . . must turn off . . . DVD . . . before it's . . . too late
by Christopher Hivner (Dallastown, PA USA)
Poor Michael Rooker, to have some actual talent and be trapped in foul smelling compost like this. I hope he got a thrill cashing his paycheck because you won't get one watching Skeleton Man. I won't synopsize the plot because there isn't one. Some guy in terrible skull makeup and a Wal Mart cape rides around on a horse killing people, including soldiers that are supposedly special forces. For the country's sake, I hope not. The acting is bad but then the dialog is worse. Didn't anyone say to the writer and director during filming, "What the hell is going on? Do you know what you're doing?" These simple questions could have saved humanity from the circle of hell that is Skeleton Man.
