As Brutal As A Gentle Falling Snow
by M. Jensen (I Am Where I Am)
Listen, never mind what the other two reviewers had to write in between rolling up some fatties. Any fan of the genre would recognize right away that these are simple, unoriginal songs played in an uninspiring manner. The singer has no stage presence at all, and delivers his inane lyrics in a stereotypical manner. When he's headbanging, it looks like half-speed. Pretty weak. When the songs slow down, all coherence drops away and it sounds like a bunch of 5th graders messing around in dad's garage. All the guitaist seems to be interested in is looking like the late-great Dimebag Darrel, who had more talent in a clipped toenail than this guy. Maybe they'll progress into something unique in time. Only reason there's two stars is for the innovative drumming and the crazy antics of the fans, but I wouldn't even put these guys in the same class as such bands as Lividity, Lust of Decay, Mutilated, and Fleshgrind. At least these guys play fast and hard all the time. There's some talented bands on Relapse, but not many. This is not one of them. If you want energy and good musicmanship, get a Slayer DVD. Anyway, if death metal is your thing, Skinless have a long way to go, but will appeal to those who like their music done by a formula that's about 15 years old. For those who like Autopsy, Immolation, old Deceased, Grave, Deicide, Banished and such, you'll laugh at this movie if you only paid a buck or two for it.

What a band dvd should be
by Big Kyle 570 (Wilkes-Barre, PA)
If you are a fan of Skinless or just the music in general you can't go wrong with this DVD. I love the format of live song, backstage and extra stuff, live song, backstage, etc. It keeps the pace nice and quick moving.
I'll keep it short and sweet but Skinflick is a good time for fans of the band and the music.
