IDEAL FOR THE CASUAL FAN
by JUAN MARTIN GABASTOU (Weston Hills, FL United States)
Like me. I wanted a FF greatest hits and this dvd doubled as one with great visual accompaniement to boot. It's a pity there aren't any concerts released, not even bootlegs, so this is what there is, and it's quite good. Sometimes the band just don't own the rights to what TV channels or other people have recorded so they cannot put out a proper release and choose the ¨overview¨way. Too bad. Assembled chronologically in a semi-documentary manner, you can skip those parts and go straight to every song. 5 of the 13 live tracks have hideous sound and picture and the rest range from fair to mostly excellent. The 4 videos the band have are included and are superb, esp Lynchpin and Cars guesting Lord Gary Numan himself, what a treat !! The audio tracks are worthless IMHO and are from a rare and unreleased cd. Only real flaw is that the name of the songs aren't anywhere to be found on the menu so you have to guess unless you're a fan and familiar with them.80' Bargain bin fodder my friends. Get it CHEAP only.

Mechanical Tormentations= FEAR FACTORY
by C. M. Gillum (Michigan)
This DVD will lead you through the first decade of Fear Factory's career. From the early days at backyard parties and small rehearsal rooms, To sold out concerts around the globe, watch as Fear Factory develops from local band intoworldwide phenomenon. The band tells the story in their own words and lets you into their world through never-before-seen footage of recording sessions, video outtakes, backstage life and, of course... The tour bus.
The DVD can be viewed as one continuous movie, or as four individual segments, each documenting the album-driven phases of the band's evolution. It also contains the band's four music videos. In addition to the video footage, the Fear Factory fan will get never-before-seen photos, a written history of the band by vocalist Burton C. Bell, a detailed band discography, and an assortment of rare and previously unreleased Fear Factory music.
INCLUDES:
*ALL of Fear Factory's music videos: Replica, Resurrection, Cars, Linchpin
*Rare concert footage of the bands decade of worldwide touring, including live performances of: Martyr, Scapegoat, Scumgrief, Demanufacture, Self Bias Resistor, Dog Day Sunrise, Shock, Edgecrusher, What Will Become, Damaged and Digimortal
*Never-Before-Seen footage of the band in their early days
*8 bonus audio tracks: Rare and B-sides from Hatefiles
*Complete and detailed Fear Factory discography
*Full-Motion menus and cool 3D Logo animations
*5 photo galleries covering every phase of the Fear Factory evolution
*The Definitive Fear Factory story written by FF vocalist Burton C. Bell
Christian Olde Wolbers - Bass
Raymond Herrera - Drums
Dino Cazares - Guitars
Burton C. Bell - Vocals
The dvd comes in a thin DVD case, with very interesting graphics and all four FF symbols up to Digimortal. A booklet is inside within the booklet is written in Burton's own words the meaning behind THE FEAR FACTORY! All Fear Factory fans should own this and any of you whom just like some of their songs you should give it a look as well!

Digital Connectivity: Connect Now
by Petar Vodogaz (Sydney, NSW Australia)
This DVD is a gem, yes there may be a small number of imperfections but the footage and the clips make up for any disappointment. This DVD shows the evolution of this industrial metal group. Fear Factory have been around for now 12 years and with their release of their latest offering 'Archetype', this band will be around for some more time to come. Overall this DVD is a pearler.
The entire FF music video clips are included here in this package including 'Replica', 'Cars', 'Linchpin' (my favourite). It also includes 8 extra audio tracks which are B-Sides or unreleased studio demos. There is a section called Evolution - that runs through the first 10 years of the band's history from concept to worldwide touring. Even some footage from 2001 Australian Tour is in here.
The full FF discograpy is included from their very first CD to their EP's and Singles. This is a rare treat and the DVD offers so much. The weblinks and online photo galleries showing the evolution of the FF Logo is amazing as well.
There are live performances of FF songs from worldwide concerts such as 'Martyr', 'Scumgrief', 'Demanufacture', 'Shock', 'Edgecrusher', 'Damaged' and 'Digimortal'.

Not Bad...Not Great
by Mono-Grind (Here)
This DVD i have wanted for a while. I finally got it around 2 months ago, and it was cool to sit down and finally watch and see Fear Factory live and all that, but i was left disappointed afterwards. The main problem with it is the sound of the Live shows. Really poor in my opinion. Though there are alot of these clips, that doesn't really make up for the fact they don't sound too good. This DVD has stuff dating all the way back to the early 90's album Soul of a New Machine, to Digimortal. It has all of their VideoClips, which are pretty cool. It has 8 bonus audio tracks, which are good, but if you already have the CD "Hatefiles" there's nothing new. It also has a discography, showing you every CD they have brought out, singles included...
But all in all, I'm a fan of Fear Factory myself, but i was just disappointed in it really.
I hope they come out with a Concert DVD soon, that has better sound Quality. But aside from all that, if you are into FF and want to see what they look like Live, and have yet to see all of their VideoClips, check it out......3/5 I expected more.

i'm disappointed
by Felipe Marticorena (Santiago de Chile)
Very cheap... The video Clips are fine but some of the live clips are really bad. I have better DVDs of bands a lot more underground...
