After appearing on three early BBC-TV sitcoms, Norman Wisdom made a string of comedies for the Rank Organsation. THE SQUARE PEG is one of these. Here he and a companion are hard at work repairing a road when they have a run-in with the Army. A bit later, both men are drafted and are sent to France, to fix roads in aid of the Allies advance.


Sir Norman's first starring film, TROUBLE IN STORE (another TELEVISTA product), is the ideal companion to this DVD.

CAST TRIVIA--

Honor Blackman appeared as Hera in "Jason and the Argonauts" (1963), but is probably best known for the suggestive feline-inspired name she had in producer Albert R. Broccoli's "Goldfinger" (1964).

Edward Chapman's long movie career began in 1924. He also served in WWII as both a pilot and an intelligence officer in the RAF.

Hattie Jacques last name was pronounced "Jakes." She portrayed nurses in films, and was an actual Red Cross nurse during WWII
