Brilliance, even without the Ashton's!!
by INFESTER (Not Germany circa 1930's!)
WHAT A PERFORMANCE..AHHHHHHH!! MY HEAD IS STILL RECOVERING, A IGGY TRAIN JUST DROVE THROUGH IT!!
The guitar team he has on this are some bad ass dude's!!maybe the just got out of jail or something??
Just know this is how ROCK is done..nothing else compare's(well the Stooge's do of course, same thing though!)
We often forget just how AMAZING old rock band's are, I mean the Stooges will always OWN..NO QUESTION!!
PREPARE FOR A EARTHQUAKE THROUGH YER SKULL!!!

ProShot, Great Sound, Great Band & The Ageless One....
by "The Woj" (Downers Grove, IL)
No one, I repeat, no one puts as much energy into his performance as Iggy Pop. This dvd is no exception. Iggy is much more energetic and animated than the recent DVD release with the Stooges from Detroit. The camera shots here are great and this has got to be one of the best sounding dvds I have. The show can be played in either 5.1 surround or straight 2 channel stereo (10 out of 10 soundboard recording). Anytime you get a concert dvd, one key rating factor is "rerun" value (ie how many times will you end up watching the dvd more than once). I have had this dvd about 1 week and must have cued it up at least 10 times. Even if I'm not watching, I just crank it up and enjoy the music. Even without the video, the audio alone would make this one of the best Iggy live recordings in my collection; "Avenue B" is that good. You like electric guitar? Whitey Kurst is a killer guitarist. With a second guitarist on board to handle the rhythm chores, Whitey justs rips it up throughout the show. Some of the best lead guitar you will here this side of Slash. The only beef I have is the constantly changing camera shots. The camera shot literally changes about every 1-3 seconds which can become a little annoying after awhile.
So as far as the purchase goes.... For longtime fans? A no brainer here, especially with zShops practically giving them away. For anyone, I mean anyone interested in what Iggy is all about, you can start here and be happy. This is rock, real music....not pop, not dance, not hip-hop, or yes, not even punk...this is open up and bleed rock n' roll as only Iggy Pop can do it. I love it.....

More Blow Torch Intensity From The Master!!!!
by Loren West (Philadelphia, PA USA)
I'm not sure why the last reviewer decided to downgrade the overall rating of this DVD just because he had a problem with a third party Amazon vendor. That doesn't quite seem fair. Having twice seen Iggy perform live with the Trolls I can truthfully say this DVD captures the fury and intensity of one of rocks greatest performers with an excellent band backing him up!! Live at the Avenue B is the best commercially available DVD of Iggy and the Trolls on the market! (Kiss my Blood - Iggy Live In Paris is also great...if you can find it!) The renditions of T.V. Eye, Lust For Life, Raw Power, Search And Destroy, The Passenger, I Wanna Be Your Dog and other Iggy Pop classics are all excellent. The band is tight as hell and Iggy himself is in top form. As for the DVD itself, the production values are crisp and clean and the sound kicks ass. This tour highlights the much softer material featured on Avenue B and contrasts it the with the blow torch intensity of Iggy's early work. Surprisingly that contrast works very well! My favorite moment on the DVD happens when Iggy plays the song Avenue B (on his knees) and the band suddenly breaks into blistering version of T.V. Eye. This is a concert DVD not to be missed!!!!! I recommend it highly!!!!!
