Better Than I Thought!!!
by Rockstar Romeraux (Baker,Louisiana)
I saw glimpses of this movie in Japanise, and didn't think much of it much less pay attention because it was in japanese. Now in 2009, we finally get Naruto Shippuden The Movie in English Dub. After watching it, for the first time the whole way through, I have to say that this movie was 110% better than I thought it would be. The action is great, and the story is even greater pitting Naruto and his freinds not only against the destruction of a village, but the possible destruction of the world. Naruto Shippuden The Movie from me, gets a perfect 5/5!! I can't wait for the second movie Bonds to come out dubbed.

A Nice Entry for the First Shippuden Moive
by Tristan A. Hayes (Richmond, VA USA)
Naruto: Shippuden- The Movie is a great experience and first entry for a movie set in the Shippuden storyline period. The movie does a great job at capitilizing upon the fact that Naruto just returned to the Hidden Leaf Village and has not gone out on many missions nor has he seen everyone just yet. In fact in this movie when he teams up with Neji, Lee, and Sakura, the writers make it appear that this is Naruto's first time encountering Neji and Lee since his arrival. Generally speaking, the movie focuses on this team's mission of protecting a very important person and leading her to the designated destination. With evil afoot, they must use multiple tricks in their ninja handbooks to ensure success of their mission.
I loved it, and although most of them do not use any new jutsu since the first season of Naruto (possibly Lee uses more of the gates of opening than was seen during his fight against Gaara during the Chunin exams), it is memorable to sit back and listen to the jutsu (and nearly say word for word what the character says). I was also intrigued by the medical ninjutsu of the enemies.
The movie excels in being a great film for fans and some newcomers since it is light on the background material and easy on the narrative. I loved the incorporation of multiple 3D effects such as 3D environments and planes/enemies. It looked well put together and actually flowed with the 2D imagery. Music was also on key with the Naruto Shippuden theme appearing in the usual places and some "made for the movie" tunes pumping us up for the events.
For the DVD, my version seemed to lack the option for subtitles, and only included the English audio, no special features, nor subtitles. Cover art to the DVD is amazing with both the design on the disc, as well as the design of the cover. This is definitely a must buy for Naruto fans, even with the lack of special features (seemed the only movie that VIZ has made that has had numerous features was the first Bleach Movie).

FACTS
by S. Fish (USA)
First off ignore the reviews from peeps who read a product listing with no clue of the actual product. The dvd comes with English dub and japanese audio, along with subs. If you read between the lines the product description does say dubbed. I am sure Amazon will fix the error in the audio part when enough of you complain. As far as the dvd what can I say its Naruto, so it totally rocks. I like English dub, my daughter likes to watch the Japanese with subs so we are both happy with this release. And yes I gotta love the fact we get new release's early due to family that work in the right places, so enjoy this one when the rest of you get the chance. It totally ROCKS!

Is this movie dubbed into English?
by Golden Dragon (OH)
I rated this a 3 because the listing says that the movie is in Japanese language with English subtitles, but the coming soon was in English. Is the listing wrong and it is in both Japanese and English language? Someone please let me know. Or Amazon please update the listing to make it clear. Thanks.

He Decides To Face Her Fatal Prediction Head-on---and Die!
The first of three theatrical features,
Naruto Shippuden--the Movie
(2007) provides a visually striking, action-packed introduction to the second series of adventures of ninja-in-training Naruto Uzumaki. Sinister ninja use black magic medical
jutsu
to raise the spirit of the long-imprisoned demon Moryo. If Moryo's body is also resurrected, he will establish a Thousand Year Kingdom that will mean the end of life on Earth as humans know it. Only Shion, the priestess of the Land of Ogres, can stop Moryo by keeping his body sealed within a hidden temple. A special squad from the Village Hidden in the Leaves--Neji, Sakura, Rock Lee, and Naruto--is assigned to protect Shion on her journey there. Director Hajime Kamegaki uses CG to create a terracotta army copied from the celebrated figures from Emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb in Xian. The scenes of marching clay automatons, impervious to ordinary weapons, pack a real punch, although they don't always blend with the drawn characters. Kamegaki balances these dire threats with plenty of physical comedy: Naruto boasts and blunders and stumbles; Rock Lee defeats his foe after eating a liquor-filled chocolate, re-creating his version of Jackie Chan's "drunken fist" technique in the "Chase for Sasuke" story arc. For
Naruto
fans, the movie is a must-have. (Rated Teen+ Older Teen, but suitable for ages 12 and older: violence, grotesque imagery, brief nudity, alcohol use)
