    Walt Disney's the Best of the Mickey... DVD Summary One of the most popular and influential children's television shows of the '50s, The Mickey Mouse Club featured a cast of talented youngsters who sang, danced, performed comedy sketches, and introduced both cartoons and live-action segments.

    Some of the better known "Mousketeers" included Annette Funicello, who went on to a successful career as an actress and singer, and Dick Dodd, who became the drummer and singer for garage rock heroes the Standells.

    The Best of the Original Mickey Mouse Club collects memorable segments from the show's 1955-1959 run, offering the sort of playful and wholesome entertainment that was the show's hallmark.
