Disappointed.
It was an interesting film, but I didnt feel touched enough. I felt some momments as intense, but overall (maybe, sining of too much care) too tight. The acting by Cage was fantastic, but not good enough to save a mediocre film. I preffer ...

Too dull for me.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this movie, but I thought I was either going to love it or hate it. I can't honestly say I "hated it" but I was bored by it. I also couldn't help but think that if this movie wasn't about a real event that...

Crash, the airplane version
A great, emotional story that calls for lots of tissues. While I really didn't want to be immersed in the subject matter, I saw it almost a year after it came out and was more ready for it then. Nicolas Cage and Maria Bello were especially...

World Trade Center Quick Review
I guess I was never bored but this was down right uneventful. Remember when tragic movies were really tragic, like Apocalypse now and many WW 1 and WW 2 movies. Stone, you have lost all things good with movies. Stop making them.

World Trade Center Quick Review
Harrowing account of heroism and survival amidst the disasters of 9/11. Director Oliver Stone uncharacteristically sets politics and controversy aside to tell a simple human story, and it works. Final Grade: B

World Trade Center Quick Review
Oliver Stone is better known for the pushing the envelope, but in World Trade Center he keeps things decidedly low key. While it is emotional, I couldn't help feeling somewhat detached from the story. Maybe it was just too soon.

A dramatic piece of one of America's horrific moments
by PATRICK J.POWERS (Duncombe,IA)
Oliver Stone's 'World Trade Center" grabs your attention from start to finish. The movie depicted the most horrendous day in this country's history. The heroes in this movie are the officers who courageously survived the rubble and how their families coped through it all. I will admit this movie is emotional and quite powerful. We will never forget 9/11. I know I won't forget it.

Solid if unambitious
by One-Line Film Reviews (Easton, MD)
The Bottom Line:
A much different film than many people feared it would be when they heard Oliver Stone was attached, World Trade Center is not great in scope or ambition but in telling the small story of John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno it is an unqualified success; 25 years from now when there have been many more films made about 9/11 this one may not be well-remembered, but it achieves what it sets out to do.

Great!!!
by Delhia Quintanilla (Corpus Christi, TX USA)
This is an awesome movie. I recommend it. This movie is made even better if seen in high definition. I gotta say I love the HD revolution. It's almost as good as being in a theater.

Unrealistic, shallow and horribly scripted....
by Shkandrij
Oliver Stone being an iconic director, I figured this will be a winner. How wrong could I have been. pretty much the whole film revolves around the rescue of a couple of firemen AFTER the collapse of the towers.
I actually think it insults the firemen that died that day. When you watch real footage of the whole tragedy, police and rescue workers are panicking, running around with equipment to help the injured. Not in this film. They seem rather content, and when walking through the first tower to fetch oxygen tanks, they chat away without a care in the world ie. What you having for tea tonight? And, when they realise the tower is collapsing, they stand still for about 20 seocnds before making way for the rubble. Come on Oliver! What a mess.
The script is terrible. Thats all that has to be said.
As for the highlight of the movie? The shot of the first plane hitting the tower is shown threw a shadow of it upon the streets below. It last for 3 seconds in all. Wow. Oliver stone is a genius.
WATCH UNITED 93. Its much more heart pounding then this caper.
World Trade Center (2-Disc Commemorative Edition) [HD DVD] Summary
"world Trade Center Is A Film About Heroism And The Best In All Of Us," Raves Good Morning America’s Joel Siegel. Academy Award Winner, Nicolas Cage Stars In The Unforgettable True Story Of The Courageous Rescue And Survival Of Two Port Authority Policemen Who Were Trapped In The Rubble On September 11, 2001 After They Volunteered To Go In And Help. Academy Award Winning Director, Oliver Stone Reveals An Intimate Look At The Events Of The Day As Seen Through The Eyes Of The Survivors, Their Families And Their Rescuers
Regardless of whether it was "too early" in 2006 to dramatize the events of September 11th, 2001,
World Trade Center
succeeds as a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who served at "ground zero" in the wake of terrorist attacks on the WTC's twin towers in New York City. Removed from the politics of war and terrorism (yet still, like all films, inherently political in expressing its point of view), Oliver Stone's potent drama focuses on the nightmarish ordeal, and subsequent rescue, of Port Authority policemen John McLoughlin (Nicolas Cage) and Will Jimeno (Michael Peña), who were buried deeply within the rubble of the WTC after the twin towers collapsed. Granted, it's only the film's historical context that distinguishes it from any other dramatic rescue story, but in focusing on the goodness of humanity in response to the evil of terrorists who remain unnamed and off-screen, Stone and first-time screenwriter Andrea Berloff create an emotional context as powerful as anything Stone has directed since
Platoon
. Even as he resorts to some questionable tactics typically lacking in subtlety, Stone refrains from much of the blunt-force filmmaking that has made him a critical punching bag, rising to this challenging occasion with a heartfelt and deeply American portrait of unity – personal, familial, and national. Flaws and all,
World Trade Center
serves an honorable purpose, reminding us all that for those fleeting days in September 2001, America showed its best face to a sympathetic world. --
